I think its like this: If you fly above the trench, the game ques the dialogue then a game over. If you do something like activate the Han trigger (or other dialogue triggers) they get added to the que after the current dialogue before the game end. Unfortunately, completing the mission objective does not interrupt the game end, I have not found anything that does.

Your FPS might be to high. Have you seen my setup guide kzread.info/dash/bejne/aJWZ1a6seZXFo5M.html ? Running at 60fps (or lower) seems to solve all slow camera problems except for N1. You can also jump in the speedrun.com/rogue1 discord if you want.

Correction: I referred to 'Delta skip' a few times, should have said 'Lambda skip'.

One thing to note is that it is not possible to do the Delta skip on the N64 so far as is known. That’s why my N64 record doesn’t use it but rather the “conventional method”, as you labeled it. Really nice run, by the way!

Thanks and I think you're probably right, I reckon there are probably only a few frames leeway in the delta skip and the DPS reduction on console would probably take JUST too long. I'll try next time I have the console going though.

For speed running, if you have the dialogue turned down to zero it will skip some of the 'dialogue cutscenes' and save time. Especially for the end of Rescue on Kessel saves like 5 seconds.

Yeah I had a laugh at that during the game, first time I ever remember seeing it. Usually if an enemy ship gets shot mid air it will crash with a tumbling animation, with the rotation of the tumble depending on where it was shot. Usually if the player's ship takes lethal damage mid-air it gets a boost and a spinning animation until it crashes (which has been named a 'Lumie skip' after the person who first discovered it could be used as an exploit). See www.speedrun.com/rogue1/level/Assault_on_Kile_II?h=Y-Wing-PC-Any_Medal&x=l_rdnmq69m-xk94o6d0-onvvdwnm.zqoe7gly-78966vq8.z197emjl for a good example of this. So it seems that the TIE somehow did a Lumie... maybe it was because of the ion cannon damage, maybe it clipped the x wing. Very strange.

Thanks, yeah the N1 has long been considered the best ship on the game at lest for many levels. When doing individual level runs, I tend to do ever ship on the same level because it helps me understand the level. Have a look at the speedrun.com/rogue1 page, plenty of great N1 records.

Yeah, I was speed running all the ships on gold medal for this level. Thanks, your 1:15 ICY on console is very impressive BTW. I notice for the wall clip into the ATST factory you hit the flat part of the wall under the peak instead of the place I hit in my video, I wonder if there is much difference in consistency.
