Looks like the ex Nick Mann v8 turbo,d machine. Used to run in the street machine rover v8 challenge or something. Remember reading about it in my youth in the 80’s in street machine mag. Happy times!

Remember seeing this being driven at the Barbon speed hill climb in the mid 60's. Bumped into the owners grandson at Goodwood FOS in 2003 when he was piloting a replica of the car in the soap box derby.

Rules state; Class 1: Any ‘A’ Series block and 5 port cylinder head is allowed to a maximum capacity of 1380cc. Majority racing with 1380cc couple of others 1310cc to 1330cc.

Update; www.gov.uk/aaib-reports/aaib-investigation-to-rockwell-commander-114b-2-roam Private Salvage Operation failed. Didn't realise Southport is an Independent Lifeboat Station and needs separate funding..

I'm coming back this year for the same event! Hopefully with a few modifications to make it look like less of a slow-motion giraffe negotiating the Esses! I was in 2nd gear the entire climb as it only has 45 horses...(when new)

saw this car run in late 70s against pinball wizard was or-some to see a car with no fuss blow the comp only to see it beat by Andy carter only cause mick was having a bad day

I never saw it run, so I hate to correct you - but I remember the races you're talking about. They were organised and publicised by Street Machine magazine in the mid 80s. The Minor was unbeatable against all the more-or-less purpose built drag cars, for several years, until they seemingly upped their collective game.
