LegalEagle

LegalEagle

Do you want to know how our legal system works? You’ve come to the right place. LegalEagle is all about giving you an insider’s view to the legal system. Have some fun and learn to think like a lawyer.

I get asked a lot about whether being a practicing attorney is like being a lawyer on TV. I love watching legal movies and courtroom dramas. It's one of the reasons I decided to become a lawyer. But sometimes they make me want to pull my hair out because they are ridiculous. So I created this channel to answer your burning questions about the law and the legal profession. While all legal movies and shows take dramatic license to make things more interesting (nobody wants to see hundreds of hours of brief writing), many of them have a grain of truth. Learn everything you always wanted to know about being an attorney!

If you’re a law student or thinking about law school, check out my other channel made specifically for law students and 0Ls here: goo.gl/e3kEHL

Imagine being scared of people that have a different sense of fasion LMAO Mullets, Ponytails, Rat-tailled Mohawks, and long hair looks perfectly fine on plenty of people, its about the face shape not the style itself. Kinda like how a bowl cut looks absolutely trash on some people, but can be rocked perfectly by others. I know you dont ban bowl cuts 😂 Besides, I think long hair looks hella fire on guys. Thats certainly no crime! 7:55 welp, time to prepare to move to Michigan, I suppose! Itd be closer to my preferred weather anyways.

You know the funnier thing is that probably he can't actually pay the fines and will need to borrow money or steal from his campaign/business associates to do so. Because Trump isn't actually wealthy, he's just good at pretending he is.

Nothing shows how truly manipulative and deceitful she really is than her having those poor babies purely in the hope it would keep her out of prison or a vastly reduced sentence. The gamble didn’t work, but I’m not sure what she’s more concerned with, the sentence or the fact her kids will grow up without her being in their lives.

14:53 I mean, Dershowitz hasn't been held in high esteem by lawyers and those in the field for a long time. The man sticks to his guns regarding OJ's innocence and got his ass handed to him by Vincent Bugliosi (an actual reputable lawyer worthy of respect) on Larry King Live

i have a slight objection to your video ace attorney anime is based of of the phoenix wright ace attorney video game that released in 2002 trial by jury was not reintroduced to japan until 2009 so the judge would likley have given the verdict as is seen in the anime and game (probably less immediatly) as they didnt have a jury system at the time

So, lately, I've been seeing many videos on your channel made by others. I respect that you have a full-time job, and like anyone a lot of other personal stuff. But this is your channel. I come here to listen to your ideas, opinions and arguments, then I follow through by looking up your references and reading other ideas. But lately, it's been more other people and not you. I honestly think it would be better to not post at all instead of letting others take the helm too often. I'd say 9/10 you should do yourself entirely, and let one go to a guest speaker. Now I don't know about the algorithms. But I can't find any recent video where you are the sole speaker. I come here for you. I mean no disrespect. Just link all those other people and I will be happy to check out their content too.

a good example of circumstantial evidence is if u r indoors and someone comes in dripping wet saying it's raining outside; if u can't see or hear the rain then there is no proof that this person is wet from being in the rain. but logic and experience would make u incredibly likely to believe the person and circumstances.

Hey Legal Eagle, would you please take a look at the whole Sony and helldivers 2 situation? given how the vast majority of the playerbase was completely clueless that what was changed was going to be changed, and plenty of people have basically been robbed of the game because the have to make an extra account in a country that won't allow them too. id you don't that's fine but it might be worth taking a look

The play the movie was based on was inspired by a real hazing incident (and its legal aftermath) that happened in Guantanamo Bay Cuba, in 1986. This was still the height of the Cold War, and marines were really firing into Cuba, and the guy Santiago was based on had written his congressman about it. The Colonel in command did order a squad of self-styled enforcers to commit the hazing. The victim lived, and some of the defendants pled guilty to assault but others successfully used the fact that they had been given the order as a defense. So while the Jessup character is a bit strident about the what a big deal it is to guard that wall, the two hosts take it too far the other way--jokingly equating it to guarding a 7-11. At the time the story was written, it really was a hostile border, and people occasionally got shots fired at them. For example, a US spy plane pilot was killed by a SAM over Cuba less than 20 years previous.

I consider it a false equivalence to compare Data, a product of industrial artifice, to a natural born human who is held in a state of servitude. A human slave is the same species, and therefore has the same capacities and capabilities, as his master. If one were to take a slave and place him in an environment where slavery was not a recognized state of being his rights as a human being would not be questioned. Data meanwhile is a machine, and in any environment would always be considered a machine since he was designed and constructed by human hands; he wasn't constructed by other androids; no android Adam and Eve gave rise to him.

Hard to say that everyone should know this is just a silly gag gift and no one should reasonably believe this makes them a Lord/Lady when presumably a large number of their customers see the nobility itself as silly and/or arbitrary, so why would it be unusual to attain that title by silly means? Especially as they seem to market quite heavily in the US where nobility is typically seen as quaint at best.
