I remember having to wait at least 3-5 minutes after a 5 minute restart for the programs to load in 2005-2010. It was awful. Now It takes just 1 minute to restart or less and I can use my PC in just 5 seconds

And don’t forget the ultimate misunderstood song! Louie Louie was so garbled that (just to be sure) radio stations across the US banned it, which only increased its popularity.

x I once had an encounter with a crazy phantom surgeon. o I was walking through Dodge Park (outside of Omaha) and then I was somehow stuck between some place with a goofy surgeon and the Dodge Park. o He was giving the impression that he was operating on my nerves and that if I moved I would suffer permanent damage, so I froze up like a statue and stood motionless (in an awkward position) in the middle of the park. o There was actually a person nearby that watched the entire ordeal, he would walk closer, hesitate, walk back, walk a little closer, walk further back, and do this over and over for about ten minutes...he never walked over to me and that is why I call him "The Bad Samaritan." x I had a co-worker at Menard's (Midwest Supply Store) that had pain in his abdomen after weightlifting. o The doctor diagnosed it as a pulled muscle and gain him some painkillers. o Days later he was suffering intense pain and told the doctor that "it simply can't be a pulled muscle." o When he was re-examined, he was immediately sent to the emergency room as his appendix had exploded days before...they were surprised he was still alive! o He had to have all of his organs re-positioned and cleaned off from the gangrene. o He was in the hospital for two months. x The jungle and surgery remind me of the book Heart of Darkness and the film adaptation Apocalypse Now, awesome book and film combo! o Colonel Kurtz was a bad surgeon though, he would cut off their heads and impale them on stakes! x Speaking of Morris political figures...there is a campaign button with the images "Morris For President" and Morris The Cat. o Morris, an orange tabby cat, is the mascot for 9 Live cat food, the cat food I buy for my cats (which include an orange tabby cat named Ginger Spice). o Morris talks during the commercials, his voice is very distinct. o Orange tabby cats were really part of pop culture in the 80s with the populaity of cats like Heathcliff and Garfield (Garfield The Movie is currently the #1 film at the box office, you have to see it!). x That C-section reminds me of the incredible film The First Omen! o Apparently giving birth to Satan's child comes with complications! x Speaking of the tundra, my vehicle is a white 2002 Toyota Tundra. o I saw it on Craiglist for $3000 and went over to check it out. o After driving it, I wanted to buy it but only had $2600 of cash (with more money coming on my next paycheck) o I told the owner that I wasn't going to talk him down in price and give him less than the truck was worth.. and that I could not expect that he hold it because he simply doesn't owe a stranger anything. o He respected my directness and honesty and told me that he would hold it for me...days later I paid $3000 cash for a vehicle I have already had for five years! x I had a supernatural experience where I was being operated on before my encounter with the crazy surgeon. o I woke up and I was in some type of hospital bed during the course of surgery and tried to move...only to feel like every nerve in my body violently vibrate like an earthquake. o I could not see anyone doing the surgery as the entire background was like a blur of lights and colors. o I really felt like the only thing to do was to sit through the whole process as I felt a lot of poking and some soldering of nerves. o It finally stopped hours later and then the hospital bed slowly disappeared to become me bed again. x Speaking of eggs: o My neighbor, who is an ideal immigrant, is from the Netherlands and worked at the local egg factory. o We used to have hens when I lived on the countryside of Midvale, Nebraska, the hardest part of getting eggs was avoiding being pecked by them when reaching for them! o The comedian/actor Chevy Chase loves eggs and says he eats more eggs than anyone he knows! o The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs is an Aesop Fable. o I remember seeing a video about women that donate their eggs, that is unforgettable! o On the tv series Denver The Last Dinosaur, the first time the gang meets the then unnamed dinosaur is when he cracks open from his egg. o The first episode of Dinosaurs is when Baby Sinclair is hatched out of his egg. o Humpty Dumpty, an anthropomorphic egg, is one of the protagonists in the film Puss in Boots. o Eggnog is widely considered to be the traditional drink of Christmas. o The Cadbury Creme Egg is one of the most famous Easter treats. o "Last one in is a rotten egg!" is a popular children's taunt for those slow to jump into the swimming pool. o An Egghead is slang for someone considered to be brainy and out of touch with reality. o Eggs are a popular weapon for Mischief Day on October 30, a holiday that has largely been forgotten over time. o Eggs are also used as a weapon by the hen Billina on the film Return to Oz. o Dr. Eggman is the nickname of the main villian in the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise. † As a child, my siblings and I had the book Return to Oz: Dorothy in the Ornaments Room. † I graduated elementary school on Fauruza Balk's birthday on May 21st, she played Dorothy on the film. x Drilling a hole into one's head sounds like the mad science of Peter Cushing's Victor Frankenstein in that film series! o VF spends much of his time trying to find either corpses from graves or ones from screwy deals! o He once took the brain of a professor because the one in his project body was too underdeveloped! o He would often use bodies of those that were hung by simply cutting off the head and using the rest of the body! o He respected one brain so little that he dropped it on the floor and left it there! o One of the craziest experiments is when he transferred the consciousness of his dead assistant into the body of his lover! x Speaking of stones: o The Rollings Stones is one of my favorite bands. o Bush's debut album is called Sixteen Stone, they are my newest favorite band on my list of favorite bands. o "Stone Cold" is the nickname of professional wrestler Steve Austin, one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. o The book Stoner by John Williams is probably the most famous book set on the University of Missouri campus. o Stoning is a form of execution where a group throws stones at someone until the die from blunt force trauma. o There was a battle of the stones for Best Actress at the last Oscars as it was a tight race between Emma Stone and Lily Gladstone (Emma Stone and Lily Gladstone are two of my favorite actors). o The Sankara Stones are the treasure in the film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. o Stones is my nickname of one of my favorite games called Mancala, a game so ancient that people used to dig holes and play it with stones they found. o David struck down Goliath with a stone shot from his sling and then cut off his head. o A cornerstone is "a person or thing of prime importance" (Collins Dictionary) and also the name of my local bank. x Speaking of hearts: o "El Corazon" (The Heart) is the treasure of the awesome film Romancing The Stone. o I live in the Midwest AKA The Heartland. o One of my friends and previous roommate lives in Valentine, Nebraska, named after the heart-filled holiday. o In the game Castlevania, hearts are used for re-fueling. o The Death of the Heart by Elizabeth Bowen is a poetic book about heart break. o Broken heart syndrome is "a heart condition that's often brought on by stressful situations and extreme emotions." (Mayo Clinic) o "Two of Hearts" by Stacey Q is an 80s hit song. o In the film series Rocky, Rocky is able to win his championships because he has the most heart. o "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is the song I listened to during the last Total Eclipse. o "Listen to Your Heart" by Roxette (one of my favorite bands) is the first #1 hit of the band with a commercial single being released (Wikipedia, Daily Roxette).

You got the whale bone story a little wrong. First, what they called whale bone was most likely baleen. Second, if you search a little, you'll find this is actually the process used for urinary obstruction at the time. I suspect you'll also find that doing this to yourself was not all that uncommon, relatively speaking.

I performed two minor surgeries on myself (although I don't think any surgery is really minor). Although I have zero medical training, other than CPR and first aid training. One was the removal of an ingrown toenail, involving the complete removal of the nail without any anesthetic. The other time was a gash I suffered while hiking in Colorado, a days hike away from civilization. I had no method of communication with the outside world. Fortunately, I had a curved needle and some 3-0 silk, and after a couple shots of Jack Daniels, as well as some used topically, to avoid infection, I used what I had, to sew myself up with. Neither were pleasant, but both were successful. After my "self sewing", when I went to the doctor after I got back, she told me it was rather impressive for somebody without any medical training. I was proud of myself, although extremely sore.

During the 1950 Delmarva Chicken Festival in Georgetown, Delaware, a giant frying pan was unveiled. It was made by the Mumford Sheet Metal Company in Selbyville, Delaware. This colossal pan measured ten feet in diameter, had an eight-foot handle, and weighed 650 pounds. It could hold a whopping 800 chicken quarters! The pan set a world record as the World’s Largest Frying Pan and was a star attraction at the festival for 37 years, frying over 100 tons of chicken. Although it’s now retired, its legacy lives on, used to hold the title of world's largest frying pan. While the Delmarva Chicken Festival celebrates all things poultry, it’s held in Salisbury, Maryland, not Delaware, which is the location of the frying pan / skillet. The giant frying pan was originally constructed in 1950 by the Mumford Sheet Metal Works in Selbyville, Delaware. The pan was created specifically for the Delmarva Chicken Festival, which was an event organized by the Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. (DPI) to promote the local poultry industry across the Delmarva Peninsula, which includes parts of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia

It’s actually pronounced one socket is spelt Woonsocket, but pronounced one socket trust me and Native Rhode Island are born and raised in 31 years of age going that was born and raise the first eight years of my life in Woonsocket pronounced one socket the half of that doesn’t even deliver babies anymore Because of the tail end of babies born in time when they did basically they stopped delivering babies there in the early 2000s I was it early 90s baby but yes pronounced one socket and I can’t say that about Woonsocket has like I said, I was going there and visit for a prostate years of my life and still live in the state my mom and holiday bundle there as children, her two younger siblings were born there. My family has been from that area that is on my mother side. The family has lived in that general air for generations family still live in Woonsocket. I saw a family member who still lives in Woonsocket. I’m gonna be there on Saturday, June 8, 2024, which, as of having this right now it’s Wednesday the fifth and only a little after 6:30 in the morning so I’m gonna be there a couple days after I’m typing this so very much able to say proper pronunciation I will miss the other name the point that every time I’m putting on socks before I put on my second one I even if I’m alone alone, alone, alone, when people with me once I start to put myself into a fight for the second one on I always have to stick out the fifth and say hey I’m home counting it. Yes I’m for trim that person but it’s just too easy not to giving how it is pronounced answers, took Moran from the one who is the first three years of my life and her family have a different directions to still do. I can get away with it because I was a Pinterest one socket stuff Woonsocket pronounced one socket.

This video list pretty much focuses on middle class mostly white Gen X perspective. Home PCs were EXPENSIVE, $3-4k for a setup. That's why the TRS-80 and the commodore 64 were so breakthrough, they were inexpensive enough that working class folks could buy one. They still didn't really become common until the mid 1990s. As for weird Gen X health trends, colon cancer at early ages seems to be plaguing us. I heard the first report while recovering from ostomy reversal after my colon cancer surgery. Ironic, that.
