Great play but Is picking up a ball without a glove considered an unusual skill in baseball??!!

What a run. To think after all that we went on and swept the most loaded tigers team shows how much momentum the team picked up off Zito in game 5.

I was watching a college World Series regional game yesterday, and it seemed to me there were roughly 4 close plays at first wherein if the fielder would have bare-handed the ball rather than using his glove, he might have made the out maybe 3 out of the 4 times due to saving that .25 of a second. Sure, sometimes you will bobble the ball, but at the pro level, with a slow moving ball, I say ' bare hand it.'

Liked Chapman a LOT ever since I met him while staying at a hotel in the fall of 2019 when the Athletics were in town. He's just the nicest young man you'll ever meet and I've followed and wished him well in his career ever since.
