Im Unterschied zur älteren Version des Covers kann man hier geradezu spüren, wie es nicht mehr nur ein großartiger Song ist, sondern aus Henning inzwischen eine tiefe Leidenschaft spricht. Die ganze Körpersprache, der Blick. Ergreifend!

OH MY GOD I've been listening to AMK for a few months now, and I think I've become quite good at recognizing the different stages of the band. I just came to hear this cover after seeing a clip on their dew tour document, and at first I checked the street cover from 10 years ago.. and then came to see this. I'm so happy that these guys can surprise me over and over again, and this one, once again, had my jaw dropping. Seeing these two performances back to back really helps to see the evolution of Henning's voice - and the whole band, for that matter. For me, this is peak Henning. He is absolutely incredible in every single performance in this era. People keep praising & suggesting the older performances, but it's crystal clear that he has evolved SO MUCH and sounds just spectacular in this kind of songs, and in his 30s. Jeeeeeszzz. I wonder if he can sound any better in the future? Is it even possible? Also, I'd like to add that he is the most beautiful human being who is just living his art in this shit-stinking planet & I love him with my whole heart.

I’ve been listening for just over a year now, and generally like the first two albums a lot more - but it is undeniable that his voice has evolved in a godly fashion. I’d like to hear more of their acoustic earlier sound combined with his improved voice. Though, I have to admit, 12 has been growing on me quite a lot in the past month or so. No matter where they go with their music, I’ll be happy to listen.

I started with the latest album and got used to that sound, but later realized that most of the songs I loved to listen to were from Schlagschatten, so I decided to buy that one, too. I bought the first album at the same time because I had a feeling I could like that too, even though I had only heard Pocahontas and Barfuß am Klavier from that album back then (not my favorites from that album, either). Much to my surprise, I have found myself absolutely loving the first album, and might even consider it as their best. It has that raw honesty, a bit mischievous attitude & fresh, post-punk-ish vibe that totally appeals to my middle-aged soul. Sclagschatten holds my two favorite songs of theirs (Vielleich, Vielleicht & Schon Krass), and I like Henning's voice on the latest album the best, but the first album just stole my heart, totally by accident. "12" is still too weird for me, but I agree, it has its moments, too.

It takes a listen or two to understand and appreciate this version. Elton’s original is much more melodic and hopeful and here Henning is heartbroken and dissolves the melody - he talk sings. Breaking up the lines with pauses while he sits in the dirt.

I love that so many people around the world cherish his music now. I discovered him and AMK in 2017. They posted videos as street musicians and I fell in love with their way of interpreting old songs in a new way with a front singer with a voice that you recognize in an instant. They’ve come a long journey but the uniqueness stays the same. It’s nice to see them being successful and recognized and cherished.

Feeling blessed to have stumbled across AMK yesterday. Don't understand the German language but listened to most of their German songs too. My 42 month old toddler has the song TheDiner on repeat says this morning its her favorite. I think Hennings voice resonates with so many of us because ... he has found his authentic way and he seems uncompromising about it. Maybe hearing his voice gives us a glimpse into our own authentic selves too. For that compassionate gift to us, I wanna say thank you to AMK.
