Hi, I’m Caitlynn, I'm in my second year of sewing and love it! I’m excited to share my makes and process with you, and hope that we can inspire each other to make our Pinterest boards come to life and take on projects that bring us joy! My primary focus here is sewing, but I love all things DIY so stick around to get inspired to tackle whatever creative projects you can dream up. I look forward to connecting with you!

Why didn’t you use black interfacing
Haha truthfully I had no idea they made black interfacing until I read this comment and looked it up 😆. My local JoAnn’s only had white when I was shopping for the project.
If you're ever worried about crushing the nap of the velvet (the raised fuzzy bit) while ironing you can make a fabric sandwich to help prevent it. Place the piece you want to iron face down on another piece of velvet that is laying face up and then gently iron. This also works great with corduroy as you can line up the ribbing to interlock with your scrap piece. I've also heard of people using a terrycloth towel as the under piece but haven't tried it myself.
Ooo! This is a great tip! Thank you so much for sharing! 😊❤️❤️
That dress is gorgeous 😍 ✨️ I 100% relayed for the lining point 😂
Thank you! ❤️ Glad it’s not just me 😆😆
Thumbnail eats!!
😆 thank you, thank you 😊
Hi I'm actually 61 yrs and just started sewing. Left work due to breast cancer. I'm in remission now. I just love your self taught. Can you re recomend thar u tube sewing guide. Was it Essential? Xxx
I've made the willow dress and it's a fun make with one caveat: I have a large chest so I had to space the rows of casing to fit my upper/under bust... The problem is because I don't have boobs on my back (lol), it's just a ton of saggy/poofy fabric that's very unflattering. I made a second version that attempted to correct the problem but still not my favorite garment.
This is great to know! Thank you for sharing! If I do end up trying it I’ll definitely keep this in mind! I have some ideas on how to fix it, but no idea if they’d really work haha.
We missed taking down the stockings, so they’re still up. It’s June.
I love 'sew the trends' videos! Thank you for sharing these patterns!
Me too! 😊❤️ So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Do you remember what kind of fabric you used for your second recommendation (the graduation dress)? Specifically, the cream one I love the way it hangs and I am going to make one soon! \
I didn’t realize the Graduation Dress was so easy to make….hmmm….. I’m getting inspired to give it a try!!
Yes! Absolutely do it, you won't regret it!
Thank you for your list of summer patterns ! I love that kind of vidéo for inspiration, you made me dicover Solana and Brandi Joan <3 am i the only one to have a problem with the sound of the vidéo ? like i have your voice only on the left ear and music in the right ear.
Of course! So glad you enjoyed it! :) Sorry to hear that the audio isn't working great on your end, I haven't been able to replicate the issue on my end but I'll keep an eye out if anyone else has this issue. Thanks for watching!

Yay so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much! 😊❤️
More pattern videos please! They’re great 😊
Aw yay thank you, will do! So glad you liked it! 😊❤️
From one sewist to another, I just wanted to encourage you with your makes. They are really lovely, and I can tell how much you enjoy creating pieces that are uniquely you. I have been sewing for 35 years and there is (still) nothing I love more than making something that is my own style and being proud of the achievement. AND, I'm still learning after all these years! Keep up the good work, you definitely have great skill in the fitting of your garments. Sincerely wishing you all happiness in your sewing journey! All the best from Australia :)
You haven't style them all , these were made by other youtube channel .
You're too young to know what I'm referring to, but WOW you look like the character 'Blair' on the Facts of Life!!!
Haha unfortunately I didn’t know but I did look her up and thank you I’ll definitely take that as a compliment. 😊❤️ Thanks for watching!
Dress is great. It's a shame that the fit across the bust is too small. Going a couple of sizes up would have made it perfect plus more gathering for the skirt. But overall a great dress ..thank you for sharing ❤
Absolutely agree! Thanks so much for watching! 😊❤️
You did a fantastic job ❤
Thank you! 😊
Oh I'm so making #2!!! Such a cute, simple design. It would look so nice in patterns.
Absolutely! 👏🏼❤️ Thanks for watching & glad you found some inspo!
Dress says Bridgertons, and sleeves say Cressida! 😂 I love it!!
😂 You’re absolutely right 😆😆 Thanks! ❤️
How much fabric did u use for the isila dress?
It’s so beautiful and fun!!!
Definitely wearable!
Thanks so much! 😊❤️
Love the creativity in the intro
Yay glad you enjoyed it! 😊❤️
Gorgeous dress and I love this show❤. Any feedback on your serger? I’m looking for one right now and I found a similar one on amazon but appreciate your opinion on it. Thank you
Thank you! 😊❤️ I’m still fairly new to using a serger so I’m no expert, but I’ve been loving it so far. I’ve found this one super easy to use and I haven’t had any issues with it so far. I think I’ve made four or five garments on it now and it’s been great. Hope that helps 😊
@@CaitMakes thank you so much that helps a lot ❤️
The intro!! Amazing. And cute finished garment 💓
Aw thanks so much! 😊❤️
This intro was the cutest ever!! I think the dress turned out great too!
Aw thank you so much! I was nervous about it, so I'm glad that it's been well received so far haha. :) Thanks for watching!
Just to say...beautiful lady
Thank you ☺️
What a beautiful dress! I love how you used just thrifted fabrics and I think it can be styled in a lot of different ways ❤️
Thanks so much! :) It was so satisfying to finally use that thrifted curtain that had been waiting in my stash for so long haha. Glad you enjoyed it, & thanks for watching!
its so pretty!
Thanks so much! 😊❤️
Did you make the first shirt you're wearing? I love the neckline!!
Thanks! Yes I did. It is a hacked version of the Isila Dress Pattern, basically just a typical princess seam bodice that I turned into a crop top. 😊
Beautiful dress I think I'm gonna make it too. You look stunning ❤ Thank you for this video and idea and free pattern suggestion
Thank you! Absolutely do it, I was really pleased with the pattern and you just can't beat free haha. I hope you have fun making yours! :)
@@CaitMakes ❤️❤️❤️
Been sewing for like 5 years now, but was always scared of making pants because of the fly zipper. But lately i needed new pants but i hate buying new pants and i wanna work to make my wardrobe fully hand made. So i tried the Diner Trousers from Lydia Naomi. Just finished my second pair, love it. The fly zipper is a lot of steps, but not difficult at all. Lydia really walks you through it in the video. And seeing a beautifully finished pair of trousers that i made is like a new sewing high. Really recomend the pattern
I was so excited to see you say to use a machine you can get cheap. My mom has a machine she's had for my whole life that I'll be using. You saying that made me feel more confident in my decision to use an old but free machine when starting out on this new hobby!
Oh that’s so nice! Yes 100% the best way to start out, and so nice that your mom should be able to help you along the way’ I hope you love it 👏🏼❤️
I love the intro😊😊😊. And I thought the British accent was pretty great❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much! I haven’t done such a theatrical intro before so I was a bit nervous, glad that you enjoyed it! 😊❤️ Haha thank you that’s very kind of you 😆🙈
amazing thank you for this
Thanks for watching! 😊❤️
It’s so pretty
Thank you! 😊❤️
Oh my. I've been looking and looking to see if you can do a slit dress with pockets because they are quite rare. Thank you <3
Glad you found it helpful! 😊 As long as you have side seams you can sneak pockets into anything 😊❤️
Your not the only one who's obsessed with Sabrina Carpenter😻💗
Haha well then hello friend! Glad I’m not alone 😊❤️
Mashallah your so pretty
Thank you 😊❤️
I want to make all of these!
Yay so glad you found it helpful!
you look like Ella Purnell!
Haha well thank you! 😊❤️
