  High crime rate, a lot of personal break ins and theft driven by drug culture. Autonomous city council, fines for uncut grass, hedges and sidewalk cleaning of snow while there's vast amounts of burned out or boarded up houses and all the dumpsters laying in the alleys of the 'hood. Taxed to the limit and seeing no results. Heaven forbid you need health care.

  As someone whose family has lived in Canandaigua ("The Chosen Spot") for 200 years, I fervently hope outsiders will NOT "discover" the area. The best thing about western NY is how far it is from any destructive giant metropolitan area--the kind that destroyed Vermont and the Adirondacks. And Batavia? Are you kidding?! There are half a dozen places near Batavia far more scenic, historical, and generally interesting. But don't tell anyone.

  I've lived primarily in BC since 72, it is like no where I've ever been. The one thing they don't tell you before you come is, BC stands for Bring Cash and lots of it. Things are not cheap. Having said that, it truly is Beautiful British Columbia.

  The East Indians immagrants tell me it is easier to get their PR in Nova Scotia before they move to little India in Ontario. Canadian citizens tell me they are moving from Ontario to Nova Scotia becasue of mass imagration has basically pushed them out.
