We get coyotes here in our neighborhood. I always thought they would be those neighbors who don't care about their dogs and leave them out. Now I know they don't sound like dogs being chased instead it was coyotes.

I just moved out to Ehrenberg AZ, which is in the middle of nowhere.. and I always walked my 10-pound Maltese poodle off-leash around my apartment complex at night. I'm thinking a leash might be a better plan since I live in their territory.

She was radio-collared by the Presidio ecologists. She was also tagged, which caused an infection on one of her ears causing it to hang down. These devices are NOT necessary to learn about coyotes. I've mapped all their territories in San Francisco without any of that equipment. You asked.

Excellent video thank you for caring about these animals. I have a group that live in the woods by my house. Sometime during each night they get vocal with one another. I always thought it was a large group. After watching your video, I now know that there are less then I thought. Thanks also for clarifying that this is not done after a kill. Thanks again.

A very good video, I am saving it to my large Arizona playlist for the Tucson/wildlife/coyote section. Being a lifelong Arizonan and having witnessed coyotes for many years, having my own experiences with them, I find this video to be true to reality and sound in wisdom. I also find that people are fearful of coyotes when they needn't be, save watching out for their pets and young ones. As a result, I feel this video is important to share. Fear is not the sound foundation for any action, but wisdom is. Wisdom is vital.

Hey there! Came across your Yipps website which was a wealth of knowledge. Didn’t see a contact email so I’m writing you here. I recently found an active den in home state of NJ. I counted 8 pups 2 of which appear to be very very small. So these pups are all very young. I’m very excited to have found this and have been observing them from a distance the last few days. My main question I have that I wasn’t clear on using the resources on your website is this......assuming they’re not disturbed how long can I expect them to use this den before they go their separate ways? I have really enjoyed watching them explore and play with each other. I have some photos I would be happy to share with you for your site as well. Thank your your time and keep up the great work.

If you have a local feed store around, there are step in fiberglass posts you can mount a camera to so this won't happen, it has tabs every 6" or 1' so you can choose the height too. Coyotes are definitely tricksters, anything that is t wired down will be promptly trotted off with, mouthed then maybe found. 😁 Love your videos!
