I have a friend who converted a PEX crimp tool into a PEX press tool by carefully filing off the end of the tool. Does anyone know of a video of somebody doing this? I asked my friend to share with me how he did it but he's not reliable on replying back in a timely manner.

  • @HouseImprovements

If the heater has been off over night it could take 4-5 hrs to get it warmed up.Also after lighting you need to turn the knob to a set temperature level and not just on "pilot"

Flashing on face of dormer should wrap around corner and 1st piece of step flashing should wrap around front. Do not strip siding unless necessary. Inflated labor cost for homeowner. Dont leave flashing exposed. Nail Flashing through roof( always a chance shingle could lift because of expansion/ contraction). Ice and water barrier under all flashings. Just some tips from guy with 45yrs experience and counting

You should be able to tilt the gun and still sink nails. You need to set the depth deeper or maybe adjust the air pressure a little if you have no depth adjustment

I'm lost. Maybe you've explained my questions in the comments, but I'm a visual learner. Maybe you could back it up [in a video] for our types and explain a few fundamental things. Crown Land. I think I get the gist, but ... what are the restrictions? You seem to be planning to build on it regardless [e.g. pointing to waterfront and location of "septic holding tank"]. The entire adjacent parcel is "Crown Land", i.e. that which extends alongside your parcel? Are you REQUIRED to remove the buildings on Crown Land ? Did they convey to you in the purchase? What are the restrictions on your parcel? Apparently you can't put a leach field anywhere on it [though I suspect it perks]? And you're not allowed to sink a well [even though I thought I saw a shallow [jet] well pump in the shed]? I suspect the body of water is fresh water. When you do build on Crown Land, do you pay a lease fee/taxes on that too? Shannon, I think you see where I'm at [wouldn't be surprised if there's thousands of viewers like me] .... so I hope you back it up to "Square One" and give us this very basic information. To me, navigating through to the start of the build will be more interesting than the build itself [since I've done two, very similar projects like this one in my lifetime].

A lot of lakes here have land (Crown land) separating the privately owned lots From the lake shore, this land is owned by the government . Years ago there were not many restrictions for this Crown land and folks did what they please with little regulation. That has changed over the years but most of the development on crown lands that existed is grandfathered ( allowed to stay and be used) but most can only be maintained and not removed and rebuilt on that same land. There is no fee currently to use the existing buildings on crown. All lots in these communities along the lake can have only septic holding tanks for each cabin/ home . This septic is pumped out and trucked to sewage treatment facilities. No leach fields or pump outs onto or into the ground. Although there are some grandfathered out houses around the area still. You can drill a well as far as I know but most people haul drinking water and store it in holding tanks. We use pumps to pump water from the lake to use in the yard or even in toilets and such. The lake you see supplies many cities and communities in the area with drinking water, that water goes through filtration at a facility near the lake before it is consumed . There are a few mines as well that get water for their process from this lake. Much of this is new to me as well so it has been a learning experience to say the least.
