That’s not a fight, I’ve seen better during the panic buying of toilet paper during Covid-19.

My third attempt, I'm trying a 50w UVA+B bulb for reptiles and such which gets pretty hot so I have it raised about a foot over the tank. I'm not sure if I'm getting enough bright light in there.

Hi. I don't remember the specific name/ model, but it was a department store kit, around the $50 dollar mark. It comes with some pre made slides. I placed my smart phone camera over the eyepiece to film it.

Even the ones who know I'm right use fear of hell to push their beliefs but until they can figure out how to change reality and prove their own God is real and not imaginary they will never get someone who is a scientifically backed atheist.

  • @artblack01

Because they were taught that morality comes from fear of whatever hell they believe they can't understand secular morality, which is also in truth social morality and has nothing to do with beliefs at all. Morality comes from not doing to your neighbor because of fear that he can do the same to you and you don't want to burn any bridges. Catch more flies with honey than vinegar. They are life lessons and not religious ones.

  • @artblack01

Nothing really, people who use faith and lose it without reason are usually too depressed to do anything "immoral". I've noticed that the most immoral people anyway are religious ones, and that is within their own religion. They are in constant denial and use, especially in Christianity, the idea that their God will forgive them if they ask for it. SO it's like a free pass.

  • @artblack01

Well, from an anthropological standpoint, they created it to explain existence and purpose and at the same time control the masses in a moralistic (for whatever morality they had at the time considering sacrifice and such) rule. However, and this is more relevant today in our society, each group, tribe, so on, has their own religious/philosophical ideology.... and worse today is science has shown that most of the beliefs within each religion is false and generally antisocial.

I know of all those and yes all religions are evil, but only because the original peaceful intentions of most of the religions have been twisted. Religion in itself is not bad just silly, it's basically people's inability to face reality and use their brain to work for answers to "hard" questions, like where it all began and purpose for life etc. It's all silly. Most wars, conquests and such are started by the leaders not the followers.

I didn't give anyone a pass, I just think that most people, depending on where they grew up, have an unrealistic twisted view of each others religions and there by scapegoating each other. I am an open minded person as well so I can see the good and bad in EVERYTHING. I can even name a religion that has absolutely no evil to it, Buddhism. however, a lot of religions, including Christianity and so on have been twisted from their original teachings and they are all used for evil.

You know, I have been all over the United States and met people from several different religions and never once did anyone who was a religion other than Christian or Mormon gave me a hard time, in fact some of the friendliest people I have ever met were Muslim and Jewish. Jews are a lot like Buddhists in that they are passive, the reason why they don't try and defend themselves is because they REALLY believe in their God's Laws, "Vengence is mine" sayeth the lord and all that crap.

  • @artblack01

I only do because they usually don't try and convince everyone else they are going to hell.

Kinda hard to argue with someone who has circular arguments. It's like running around a circular room with no doors expecting to find a way out. It's pointless to talk to Christians.

indeed, the knowledge divide served as a high barrier for each of them to attempt to get through what they considered to be valuable points to the other. it didn't help that neither of them agreed with the foundations of the other's paradigm. Biblical Creationists may well enjoy Ray's presentation, whereas PEaRLists (rationalist materialists) would probably favour Tf''s arguments and challenges, as WELL as his admission as to a lack of knowledge where it counted. your review was quite fair.
