Hey, guys! My name is Brandon and I am a route developer for the "Train Simulator" video game series created by Dovetail Games. My core focus is the Northeast Corridor. On my channel you'll find route building videos from Train Simulator 1 (the legacy Train Simulator game) and gameplay for Train Sim World (the next-generation simulator). Once the route editor is released for Train Sim World, you'll soon find videos of me using that.
While I am waiting for the editor, I have been making some videos pertaining to my favorite online RPG of all time. Guild Wars!

Thank you. ❤
Hey I’m having trouble with moving my M7s in train simulator build mode I added signals third rail and ptc (code change point) is there anything I’m missing there?
@@augsnow2067 trouble physically moving the train? No idea, sorry
And they say PZB is difficult
How to copy and rotate the curve track (Same Pattern) Please Suggest Me
Sorry, but do I have to pay to use Google Key? Or can this be used for free to build a route?
I still have my original API key, don't pay anything, and it works great
Help!!!!! I am having issues with 2 of my switches they show they're connected but they aren't connected correctly. The switch has a large rectangle above it and then down where the track is it has the same small square showing it needs fixed. Hope I explained my issue correctly. Also the track usually has the small inner pieces to keep the train from derailing. But mine don't have thise and idk hiw to fix it.
The only thing would make this route perfect is anoucements other than that its perfect its been a lot time since we have a good US route
Maybe in future we get as well the harlem line as well extended
Hi Brandon! This was awesome and I've watched a couple times. I have two questions that I'd appreciate if you would clarify to me. 1. Coming into NY Penn, when you get the yellow over red signal on the ceiling at the platform, to be followed by the red at the end of the platform, does one reduce to 10mph from the restricting 15? 2. Same sort of question with dwarf signals around Jamaica, I take verticals to mean 15, and horizontal over vertical or diagonal to the upper right to mean 10. Is this correct / appropriate? Not sure if it applies but I picked up the interpretation from NY Trenton. Thanks!!
Glad you enjoyed it! 1. You can stay at 15mph all the way up to the Stop signal. 2. No, they both mean up to 15 (even 30 in some rare cases). Just follow what's displayed on the ADU and you should be just fine.
@@cActUsjUiCe92 Thanks very much!
Does anyone know how to merge two different track textures so that it smoothly transitions from one texture to the next?
This must be super helpful to anyone who can't read.
The SDU in the Cab Car does not constantly update in the cab view as it should, you have to go outside and back in to see any new cab signal changes. I’ll put in the forum but it is possible it broke because of a mod that I have in.
Could you do another one on these with some easy ways to memorize the signals themselves?
Not likely. You'll have to find a way to make these memorable to you
I love your tutorial videos. I learn so much of the details and it really helps me drive and feel more connected to the route. I hope there are more routes you bring your expertise to in the future.
I've been wanting to comment for a few days now just been so busy. The first would like to say thank you Brandon for everything you do & think you did a great job on the Long Island railroad 2.0 definitely my ultimate favorite for US. I'm really happy that they implemented the platform stop markers but one thing that does pain me other than the Penn station issue would be not seeing the tracks power boxes/equipment. I know you had wanted to put everything in and I'm curious to know if you could even answer but would it be possible to implement that later patch? I'm hoping to complete this full-time table and looking so much more forward to it because of the awesome services you guys have selected pretty cheers Brandon if you can give an answer I'd appreciate it if not it's cool too
I wouldn't count on it. Not for lack of me wanting to...
@@cActUsjUiCe92 trust me bro I know I saw your face in the preview stream and felt horrible but nevertheless you did your thing and I'm testing consistently with my moderation team as well as the beta testers but I love it it's a great route. Cheers
hey buddy i have a major isssue since the last update we got in april to TSW4 i have had a major texture glitching issue with TSW4 and the game looks yuk all over the shot from bad text on sides of trains to the ground and all i have done everything to try fix it from turning off dx12 to taken custom engine ini settings off to even reinstalling the sim and taken all mods off idk what to do i left a post at the forums but nothing no reply or anything from anyone if u could help that be great its driving me crazy never seen the game look so bad and im on a high end pc and the settings in game are ultra to high
Hey man sorry to hear that =( I am not seeing such issues on my end and I am playing the same version of the game as you. Hit me up on Discord and we can see what the issue might be. Just search for cactusjuice and you should find me. Reply if you have trouble.
hey buddy its been a while i just like to thank you for your hard work on this route but yes i got the backing up trains stuck issue like everyone else in the tunnel coming into penn station i think dovetail know but just wanted to put that out that a fix is needed also i so hope that adding the 7 line around sunnyside is a easter egg on at long last getting the New York Subway at this years Core Aka TSW5 Or TSW4 Season 2 Release i been so begging for the New York Subway for years in TSW Now and we long overdue for a new subway route and yes im a long life yankees fan anyway thanks for the message cheers until we met again
Thank you for your tutorial. It's great. For me (German) these signals are strange, but you teached me perfectly.
Excellent video Brandon. Really enjoying learning the signaling which adds so much immersion to the game
you updad thiss one Compatible: Northeast Corridor: New York - Trenton because on game all already
Links are broken :(
Just like to say Fantastic job Brandon with all the effort you've put in to the dlc aswell as the others who have worked on it . Your set up is great I can imagine yer with your big screen standing up there playing completely hudless giving u a real simulation experience bet you felt like a real motorman. 👍

I kind of wish the game had a tutorial for signals with many exercises for all the different signals and signal progressions. Of course I wish the game had many things, like an actual conductor instead of next objective prompts, but I digress. Appreciate all of the hard work!
Thank you. I appreciate that you provide prototypical operating information because I like to drive that way. I also appreciate you explaining the signals the signalling logic. I learned a lot when you streamed your upgrade to Boston and the Trenton release. I wish every route came with an expert explanation like you give. I've been recommending people check out your Boston / Trenton streams 😊
Check out my livestream from today! I did a signaling masterclass and I think it went pretty well.
As someone on Long Island, I just want to say that this route is amazing from what I’ve played so far, and you have clearly put a lot of work into it. I’m a big fan of how variable the signals and safety systems are. It’s not like most routes where a signal is either clear, caution, or stop. With these signals, there are numerous different messages they can make, which makes the player more alert, and and it all adds up to make a great timetable
I do not normally take interest in US based routes but I bit the bullet after I saw the amount of care and effort that had went to this route. Thank you so much for the work.
hey man seriously thank you for all you have done for this route! Finally an a truly well done american route
Thank you for all the hard work, great job on this route!
Great work on the signals just a genuine question why did they have to move the door controls. Also couldn't they just keep the safety systems stuff on the back but make it so it can't be turned off.
It was one of the things the licensor wanted.
on service 2815 there is a massive signaling issue going into penn station
Can you please elaborate?
Well on the end of 825 when on the tunnel to penn station there’s like 6 trains on top of each other.
This happened to me once outside of Brighton station. I swear i waited 45 mins real time thinking that the signal would change but every time a train left Brighton to go towards lewes freeing up a platform for us waiting on the mainline, nothing changed! Really annoying
I have my cognitive test coming up for Locomotive Engineer...Does anyone have anytips for the assessment and interview process???....I want this position so bad.
Looking all over the internet for information on how signal aspects work in the game, turns out this video pretty much had all the information I needed. Big big thanks on clearing up lots of questions I had and more. My goal is to be able to play the game HUD less and for the game to be more than a simple stop and go simulator.
thanks for this!
This is excellent! I’m watching this again and then again. Thanks!
This is one reason why I enter and start services "On Foot" at least 10 minutes prior to the service starting, because if you directly load the service, it barely gives you any time to set up the train as well as familiarize yourself with anything new. I usually enter 20 minutes prior so that I can also set the handbrakes, since they are never set when you load in.
I noticed that when operating the MBTA rolling stock that when the SDU starts showing a more restrictive aspect and/or speed, I do not need to put the brake handle into suppression (just acknowledge and even a minimum set works). I also always enable the switches in the back panel of the F40PH and the panel in the CTC-3 Cab Car. Do you know if that is how it is supposed to work (does the MBTA SDU only check that the brakes are applied)?
hey, so my lirr route in train sim classic is super glitchy. and all my other routes are completely fine and working perfectly. is there a way to fix the glitchy issue in the lirr route
Hi, I was wondering is there any page where I could get names of all Interlockings for Boston-Providence route I would really apprichiate that.
A question, how can you move so fast in free camera ? When i'm in free camera the speed is limited at 43km/h idk in miles/h. Idk how to move raster
Links are broke brotha
the maps keep loading in the game. i tried lowering the zoom level but it just didnt work.
All this mess and train sim world is not saying a single word about how to drive on that route.... it's a mockery to their own game
27:31 There _is_ a rhyme or reason: braking distance. It's governed by the speed of the trains, the weight of the fastest train using the line, and the spacing of the block signals. _Approach Limited_ may be used on 90% of the block signals, but 9% could show _Approach Medium_ instead simply because the signal spacing or grades are tighter and extra distance for stopping may be needed by some trains.
19:33 No. Restricted speed is defined as only the speed you can travel while being able to completely stop the train within half the range of the distance you can see down the track, but not exceeding 15 MPH in interlocking limits or 20 MPH otherwise. The actual speed limit varies moment by moment based on the visibility (or lack thereof) of the line ahead. The game may not care how far you can see down the track, but a real train crew would. Restricted speed puts all the onus on the train crew to not hit anything, drive on a broken rail, pass a Stop signal, etc.
A small point of order: All of the the signals shown in the first few minutes are block signals. 100 years ago it wasn't always the case, but 99.999% of interlocking signals today are also the block signal for the next signal block. The terms "home signal" and "distant signal" are antiquated, and sometimes confusing in modern situations. The term "distant signal" definitely still means the signal encountered before arriving at junction/interlocking, but there are "Distant signals" as well which are not block signals and don't convey any information except the state of the interlocking signal beyond it (or just that there is one). The terms _absolute signal_ and _permissive signal_ are more generic and the only difference is whether an all-Red signal can be passed or not.
do you think you could help me out with placing down the signals and getting them to work in game? I'm trying make my own route where I use the M3 and M7, and without signalling data, both trains are limited to 15 MPH
Read my post on the DTG forums. forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/guide-placing-and-programming-signals-for-long-island-rail-road.56540/
Thank you!
Great video, very informative! I'm having an issue with the Acela where at Boston or Providence stations (even at East cove interlock) I'm getting an overspeed penatly brake about 160ft from the signal but it stops me too short of the stop marker, I'm definitely not overspeeding I'm usually doing 5mph but it still slams the brakes on or is that the ACSE kicking in?
ACSES positive stop. When it was implemented on Trenton it had this unfortunate consequence for Boston.
8 years later and it STILL SUCKS to lay track with banking. Trying to build a UK mainline with third rail electrics and OH MY GOD it makes me so damn mad!!
