Recover Your Soul with Rev. Rachel Harrison

Recover Your Soul with Rev. Rachel Harrison

The process of Soul Recovery was first inspired from the 12 steps of AA and Al-Anon but expands beyond addiction to encompass the experience of being human and the desire for wholeness. Rev Rachel has learned from 12 step, psychology, spirituality, metaphysics and a wide range of spiritual and religious teachers as she develops this path.

Soul Recovery offers a spiritual path to a happy and healthy life, guiding individuals in transforming their perceptions and letting go of old, unhealthy beliefs and behaviors.

I need it this so much. Thank you so much for the information that you provided. Also, thank you so much for your perspective. I needed to hear the AA side of it. I'm quite sure that my loved ones would agree with everything you said about how an alcoholic acts and thinks. My higher power brought me to this today. And I really needed to hear It. Thank you. If you do more Al anon stuff, I will be back.

Thank you for being there. My son is in an physical, emotional and verbally abusive relationship. He called me sobbing last week. I went to him, but there's literally nothing I can do. I have no space in my house. My husband who has 33 years of recovery said he could stay for the weekend at our house. That said, my priority has become to protect my own peace and my piece of mind. I don't want the energy in my home. I have spent many hours lying awake, worried. I just keep asking God to cover my baby. My heart breaks for him. I'm at a point the where, if something tragic happens, and he is released from this world, at least he will be at peace. ❤😢

I started changing the way I interact online since listening to this and have turned shows off once any kind of emotional chaos starts. I find myself starting to type out a response to a comment that lacks critical thinking and stop myself. It’s not my responsibility to explain things to people who are obviously enjoying being part of the chaos. I just started an episode of hoarders and saw the preview comment which said enough to let me know that I wouldn’t be feeling too great after watching it. Yay me! Thank you!

you are using copy written material unlawfully. You are going against spiritual principles for your profit. next time, would you consider sending that person to an alsnon group on their area to work recovery.

Many alanon’s think recovery means you stay with these bad relationships now. To stay or leave is not the point. I had a sponsor who sad when & or if ur recovered enough u can be around these abusive people. “A true alanon, playing God, like she has any idea the best thing for me”

When I detached with love my marriage unraveled slowly to divorce. The nicest thing he ever said was “if u think I’m going to change your crazy” he found a nurse employee that would accept him. I could send her a thank you card someday. To do this u need a lot of support, even w support it’s brutal but the best thing you can do for yourself. U need to build tremendous grit first & commit to it. Very difficult.

You nailed it for me. I have lost myself recently due to a ton of circumstances beyond my control and am so busy taking care of other people’s pain, that I’m literally falling apart. I know I’m doing better with your help, but it still hasn’t sunk in that I have to take care of myself first. I will be listening to this again and again. Thank you, Rachel.

What happened to us as children is very real and needs to be healed from our own inner work and takes time to unwind the harm that was done. In Soul Recovery we are also learning that we can choose to not continue to be victimized by our past by releasing the energy that is tied to this pain. Connecting to the Higher Power of your understanding and opening to the release of that pain, and choosing forgiveness so that you can release the pain and change the inner story is where your power for recovery is. YOU deserve to be happy.

My Soul Recovery journey has been influenced by Al-Anon and for that I am so grateful- it has created what I call Soul Recovery, which is not intended to speak for, or replace an Al-Anon program- but to add to your 'spiritual awakening'. My hope is that Soul Recovery offers a broad spectrum of spiritual tools and studies, not just for those effected by addiction, but for anyone looking to follow a spiritual path to a happy and healthy life. Take what you need and leave the rest. Kindly, Rev Rachel

I enjoyed the podcast very much. I cried right along with both of you. I signed up on his website and see a wealth of information to delve into. While my 44 yo son is still in rehab, I see his 3 adolescent sons hurting and they will need me to be an emotionally healthy grandmother to navigate the coming years. Thanks again, Rachel, for another meaningful message.
