    Tango - thank you. Excellent tutorial. I was out of practice, and this was a new machine to me (inherited from my mother-in-law). I was in the "hot mess" issue under my cloth I was sewing and was stumped. I had missed threading step #4 and #5 (back up, over the hook, and back down). Don't know how I missed that, but it did the trick. When you pointed out that the issue was tensioning if that was happening, that led me to the problem. You also showed me some tricks on this machine I didn't know...the automatic threader is amazing. I can thread that needle in seconds now (rather than minutes, if I'm lucky). Great job - thank you!

I even showed my husband. He was all… look at how that bobbin does its thing! And he too smiled when you threaded the needle ha ha!!! That was a cool moment! Thanks again

I was very intimidated when unboxing my machine; I thought there were so many parts I was going to have to install prior to using - I was mistaken. Better than I anticipated. Within a couple of hours, I was wearing the jeans. It took a little longer initially because I didn’t want to make a mistake, so I was extremely cautious before making the first cut to cutting the threads when finished. You will do well, just be confident.

    Do you need to draw up the bobbin thread after doing the top thread with cs7000x

  • @tango5150
    @tango5150 Жыл бұрын

    So this may be one of those, do as I say not as I do, and maybe someone with more experience can tell you why I'm wrong. HOWEVER, I've been sewing for a little over a year now with this machine, and this is the first I've heard of Drawing up the bobbin thread. (I did research how people do it after you wrote this comment cause I was like "Oh boy what am I doing wrong" lol) But no, with all of the bags I've done, the only thing I do is place the bobbin, I place it so the thread unwinds clocks wise, and then I draw the thread around the little metal plate (it's the little part closest to you) then I replace the plastic cover and pull the thread up and under the sewing foot. Like I said, it may not be the correct way, but it's how I've been doing it for the passed year and I don't really notice any sort of issue with that method. HOWEVER, because you've got my wheels turning, I will try to draw it up and see if it makes a difference and will report back ASAP!!!

    thank you! I will try again with the replacement! After I talked to customer service, Brother told me to actually return the machine back and they'll send a replacement...their customer service was top notch! She did say I could take it back to a local authorized dealer to look at it and see if the part falls under their new machine warranty but my closest location was about an hour away so she said return to Amazon would be easier for both. The new machine should arrive by tomorrow!

  • @tango5150

    When I pull the lever down, and try to turn it, it doesn’t even hug the needle. How do I get it to hug the needle? I haven’t even tried to auto-thread steps yet because I can’t get the darn piece to touch the needle in the first place!

  • @tango5150
    @tango51502 жыл бұрын

    Hey! I’ll record how I do it today as soon as I get home, there might be an issue with positioning (otherwise it might be an issue with the machine itself.) I’ll post it and tag you 👏 remember that when you pull the lever down there’s a little bitty hook that should easily go through the eye of the needle. If it doesn’t go through easily there’s a placement issue.

    I hardly would call this feature automatic. Brother does have an automatic threader that is much more user friendly. I have 2 Brother sewing machines one with this same system for threading the needle and the other writh an automatic threaded . It's a breeze once you get used to it. Please note that there's a loop above the needle that must be threaded before the needle. It will keep the thread closer to the needle and thus easier to thread. May I dare recommend Gutterman thread? It's less linty and works best. When I bought my second Brother, the sales lady recommended I only use Gutterman thread. Good luck and happy sewing!
