BrotherTim

Videos taken on the road around the south, mainly Georgia. We go to theme parks, interesting or unusual places and I pay my respects to some of the people you may know that are buried in the places we visit. If there is a place you would like for us to visit or something you have questions about, let us know.

    I lived in Americus when the tornado devastated the town. I worked at the Zaxby's and had fallen off a porch the night it happened and had to go to the hospital. the tornado ripped through and destroyed everything. All of the employees of the restaurant came together to help those devastated by the storm. One thing that I distinctly remember was us going up and down the highway and picking up the pieces of wall art from the restaurant that had been scattered about for miles. George W. visited the town and declared an emergency. I left shortly after the town's destruction and went on to 'bigger and better things'. It was a painful time for many Americans, including myself. It is also worth mentioning that much hasn't changed since. I didn't know that she was laid to rest there. I will visit her the next time I head back through. 💕 Subscribed. Reply

    I do not understand why her famous daughter Tatum O’Neal didn’t get her a bigger better tombstone- the media was blunt back in the days her parents freak accident(never heard an obituary with the word Pain) Joanna Moore was a beautiful talented woman.

    deannamay, she was originally buried in California but was moved to Georgia. I think the reason for such a plane stone is more the cemetery than the family. Notice that all the graves in the family plot have the save style stone. The cemetery is old and there is probably rules about burials and what stone can be placed. It probably had to match the others in the plot. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment.

    I worked at SFOG from 91-93 as a ride operator. I worked the Looping Starship my first year and there was a storage shed in the alley behind it. We'd hang out inside when it rained and the ride was closed. The inside was full of everyone's initials, crushes, etc. I'd love to know if that shed was still there....I know the Looping Starship is long gone. Back then, working there was like going to camp. We had afterhours parties in the different areas and the supervisors would operate the rides. It was great fun. Anyone remember the Foreman Follies? The Free Fall when it operated at full capacity and broke down all the time? The horn that blew every morning when they turned on the pumps at Thunder River?

    Thanks so much for the watch and the comment. I probably ran across you during that time as I loved the Looping Starship. I never officially worked there but worked the Christian Festivals there and I do remember hearing the horns in the early morning hours. There was also horns that blew quite often on the Viper. Thanks again.

    I stop by here every so often. Something about "Peggy" ... Joanna, that draws me in. Makes me sad that she didn't have a longer and better life. I wonder if anyone would think about sprucing up her grave just a little? That small headstone doesn't seem enough.

  • @BrotherTim
    @BrotherTim2 күн бұрын

    Mike, thanks for the comment. I think the headstone was probably more of the cemetery rules than the families desires. When you are there, notice how all the ones in the family plot look the same. Her parents and grandparents all have similar stones. I'm guessing, but there might have been some rule when the family plot was bought as to what headstones could be placed. Thanks again.

    Wow! You and I are the same age! The funniest part is my first visit to SFOG was also in 1968. We were living in Charlotte at the time and drove down to the Big City to go to Six Flags! I remember screaming bloody murder as we entered the Haunted Fort and refused to take another step, so my dad walked me around to the exit slide where we met the rest of our family and friends. We moved to Atlanta 2 years later. In 1978, I got a job at Six Flags and worked at the Hanson cars and Highland swings where the crew members operated both rides. That's where I met one of my closest friends Charles and we still talk a few times a week to this day! The next year, I worked at the Haunted Fort and got a good laugh with my crew members about how terrified I was to walk through it as a kid! Great MEMORIES!!!

    CHBeck, thank you so much for the comment. I really wish there were more pictures or videos of the haunted house. I know it was designed by Sid and Marty Krofft and there are some pictures and few promo videos of it but not a complete walkthrough. Thanks again.

    Sherry, This is an old cemetery and she is in a family plot. She was moved here by her family, she was originally buried in California. All the headstones are pretty much the same for her parents and grandparents. I believe it has something to do the regulations of the cemetery but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks for watching.

    Tim, you did something on this video that I wish more people did on cemetery visits videos. After you arrived at Joanna Moore's grave, you panned around 360 degrees in the exact same spot giving the video viewers an absolute perfect view from all angles of what Joanna's surroundings are. Thanks for that. That's called thinking of the viewers.

    Ms. Moore also had a small cameo in the Steve McQueen western film, Nevada Smith. She played the part of a hooker that was once married to one of the three men McQueen's character is looking for to avenge his parents murder. She was uncredited in the film. What a beautiful woman. It's tragic that she had such a hard life. RIP Ms. Moore.

    Joanna Moore was a wonderful actress with a great sense for displaying subtle humor with spot-on comic timing. I never tire of watching her appearances on "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" (1962-1965) where she was featured in two different episodes: "Who Needs an Enemy" and "Crimson Witness." She also made appearances on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" (1955-1962) when the show ran for a half hour. Thank you for this sweet tribute!
