Coastal Foraging With Craig Evans
I launched this channel ,for people to share in my good fortune of living in this beautiful area Wales,UK,and to promote the local tourist industry. I am privileged to have acquired the intimate local knowledge of the sustainable hot spots for coastal foraging(Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire). I have had a life long interest in foraging (I believe it may be genetic as my father /grandfather/uncle and brothers all seem to have this "urge"). My knowledge of the coastal ecosystems/habitats has been gained by my life long study of my compulsive hobby. Following careers in the Royal Air Force,Banking and more recently Forestry I am now launching a new business "Coastal Foraging" whereby I will offer courses to individuals and groups of up to 12 ,to accompany me ,and experience days out that will be very similar to that shown on the channel. I don't think you should be stomping through streams in your size ten boots to catch a trout. Destroying all those micro eco systems when you can go to Tesco and buy some farmed produce. Can you imagine if everyone did what you do? Don't be selfish, you are taking what belongs to everyone.

Back in the mid 1970s, I used to dig razor clams on the beaches of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA and bring them to my 90 year old grandfather to cook up into a white chowder. And wild blueberries to my mom for muffins. Life was great when you could wild harvest what was taught to you and then bring it to an adult who would work their magic.

Llew and myself are very well , we've been really busy taking out coastal foraging courses , which is my full time occupation 🙂

shwmae! Great to see you back. Those brown trout remind me of my childhood, fishing in a similar small Welsh river, taking brown trout home to my Mam to cook for sunday breakfast.
My mother used to coat them in seaoned flour and pan fry them until crisp- delicious with plenty of vinegar 🙂
