Hello! I have a 2009 Audi A4 that has been sitting and not been started since April 2023. Apart from the battery, what should I expect to discover (potential oil leaks from dried seals?) I had a motor overhaul in April 2022 most parts including the cylinder head were replaced so the seals only have a couple thousand miles on them. Therefore what should I inspect and do before I attempt to crank it up? I left it with a full tank of gas, added some Stabil Fuel Stabilizer in April 2023.

if it sat in a dry place then you should be just fine to crank but not start. U may have smoke every start up since the valve seals got pretty dry, but i wouldnt worry about that.

just remove the oil filter once you see oil come out of there put it back on and it should build pressure after that. there is an air bubble

You need to research how to check the transmission fluid. You’re teaching everyone the wrong way. You ran the car till the fluid is hot and checked it at operating temperature. That is the most wrong thing to do with the Toyotas. It has to be checked between 95 and 113F and no more or less. That’s a huge difference from what youve done here!!! Please take this video down so it stops people from ruining their cars. Which is for sure going to happen if they follow this video! 🤦‍♂️

So ure telling me that if that fluid was never changed and im putting exactly the same amount back, thats wrong? Its not wrong, its just a different way without wasting more time. By the way this car still drives on that same fluid without any issues and that same owner is still my happy customer. Now i understand where ure coming from, there is a procedure that under different situation, like a leaky trans or changing a trans line, I would follow the right temperature then check, but in this case i didnt have to.

For those who want a complete fluid exchange vs an approx 40% pan exchange: 1.) Remove the plastic shield under the front of the vehicle. Note, new assorted plastic push-clips are recommended. 2.) The radiator cooler transmission fluid out-fall is on the drivers side approx 3/4" OD, 3/8" ID rubber hose with spring clasp clamp. 3.) Disconnect the hose and attach an extension line to a translucent 1gal jug in an catch pan (for overflow/spills). 4.) The steel return line may drip into a second catch pan. 5.) Snuggly attach a clear extension line to the dip-stick tube with a funnel. (I inserted a clear plastic kitchen "baster" keeping the refill level from overflowing at top of the "baster"/funnel). 6.) Start the engine and put in gear (automatic) until approx 1/2 gal OLD is collected and turn off engine. 7.) Fill approx 1/2 gal NEW. 8.) Repeat for approx 2 1/2 gals until bright pink is dispensing. 9.) Reattach radiator/trans Return line. 10.) Adjust fluid level to the low side of the "Cold" mark on dip-stick (so you can top-off to the Hot mark). 11.) Drive vehicle until transmission is up to approx 115 deg. F and adjust fluid level to "Hot" mark. 12.) Reattach the plastic shield using new plastic push-pins. 13.) This should replace the trans, torque converter, and radiator cooler with All New fluid. Happy motoring!

Thanks for the heads up on the relay for the electronic throttle. Had a P2138 changed the pedal assy, and TB. Fault kept coming up. Ended up changing this Electric throttle relay and Main Relay. For some reason when trying to look it up on Subaru parts it comes up as a “diesel glow plug relay” had to find a service manual and look up the wiring schematic to make sure it was the correct relay since I only had 2 while using had 3 and the main relay was brown.

check oil before starting, pull an ignition fuse or fuel pump fuse or relay, or you can just disconnect the coils on top of the engine so spark plugs dont fire, crank until red oil light turns off, about 10 seconds should do it.

Hello there, I recently did a CV axle repair on my 2018 Rav4 XLE, I had about a 3/4 to 1 cup of trans fluid come out when I removed the axle. I knew I needed to replace the fluid, but had none at hand. I slowly tested it in my alley for issues and no noises or shifting interruptions. Since the oil leaked out and really have no accurate amount of fluid loss I want to just do a flush and replace before driving it again. How will I know how much to replace? Obviously will follow your protocol, but the losss of some of the fluid will create an innacurracy right?

You have to remove those hex oil plugs. You will not get out the debris. You'll need oxy/acetylene heat around the plugs to melt the sealant. The machine shop should have removed them to clean the oil galleries.
