  I suppose Thompson causeway was underwater on the first part. I did real good there a couple of times in late March and April with higher water. Mixed bag.

  Used to love fishing Spring Lake when flooded. Monster fish when water was running over walking path at entrance. Giant carp,Buffalo and bass. Just waiting in the flow. Miss it.

  Yes! I think Bluegill, Warmouth( we call them Greenbacks) Sunperch and all those panfish are the best eating, along with catfish and walleye. We fillet them and have a huge bowl of nuggets. So good! I love to catch them and the big ones sure do fight! Sometimes I put a black knat fly and a little spoon on my light rod and fish rocky areas where red eye are. Those are nice "gills!".

  Nice Catfish! Great for 🥘 Dinner! They are also Fun to Feed and you can pet them when they come for Food. I did that on my Honeymoon in Smoke Hole WV. Feed the Catfish Food and you could see Trout but NO FISHING! They belonged to the Property of the Hotel and Cabins.

  I've been living in Florida over 5 yrs. The only thing I miss in Illinois is that area.Lock and dam 13, Spring Lake. For almost 50 yrs Id drive 3 hrs each way to go there at least 10 times a year...How it's changed..use to be so crowded,alot going on etc. Loved it. Last time I was there,it was sad to see such a beautiful area no one taking advantage of it. I really miss it

  Not yet! Season 8 E-2 was at Thompson; E9 was at lock and dam 13. I was at spring lake twice earlier this spring but that will be in season 9 next year.
