  Sounds like a bad graphics card....try booting without the grahpics card or swap it out with another AGP card...as well as a different ram stick and try different dimm slots

  That's what I'm thinking too, I'll look for similar part on ebay but I'll try to start it up without the GPU, only sad part is that there is no VGA port on the Motherboard but I'll give it a go

  The specific model number is typically inline with a different configuration made to the machine, for instance the 7940 is the more measly counterpart with a Pentium 3 rather than the beefed out Pentium 4 with the 7955 existing on Windows XP like is usually the case. Apparently the very top of the case near the front pops out for the recovery CD, and judging by the case design it definitely predates the Compaq acquisition. I figured that out since I was able to find a PDF document titled the “hp pavilion home pc upgrading and servicing the pc” dated 2000, but it doesn’t mention any beep codes; I did find forum posts with those similar machines other people had at the time, it seems that many will reference the beep codes for the Phoenix BIOS but those only apply to the post-merger machines

  @@Tucker1701yeah, like I mentioned the Pentium 4 towers such as the 7955 are more beefed up similarly to the model you got here. In my searching, I actually found a HP branded ME to XP “Solution CD” for cheap. If you’re able to get this particular unit working with its recovery media that might make for quite an interesting video idea depending on whether you’re accepting any fan mail.

  **Update** So I removed the cards and the ram, still nothing; beeps are the same, put one ram stick in, same deal. At this point I'm fairly certain that it's the Processor but the issue is I have no idea how to remove the CPU fan since there's no manual on how to remove it and it has these metal clips on the side of the heat sink and I don't want to break them. Again, any help would be most welcomed because there is NOTHING out there. NOTHING! I type the make and model and it pulls up a OMEN 880 computer or a printer or a monitor!

  Hello have you tried googling the product number? Also I am sure you tried but just checking try taking out all cards and turn it on. Try turning on with each ram stick. I am sure HP no longer has a support page for this desktop.

  I’m about to take all the cards except the graphic card since that’s the only thing that has a VGA input. I’ve tried running the product and serial number and nothing came up

  I gave my oldest daughter my old Dimension 2400 it has 2 GB ram, it had an nvidia geforce 6200 (it went bad so it is no longer in the system). Two hard drives, one with windows 7, one with xp. It has a floppy drive, cd drive, and dvd drive. Everything works. How many optical drives do you have? Is the optical drive good? If so i would try to uninstall the driver and refresh it, if the driver is corrupt this should fix your problem. Check your bios settings and check the event viewer. Try running dvd in safe mode. Let me know what you come up with

  I did reinstall windows XP on 2 different HD and someone recommended me to just reseat the CPU......and it works now. The DVD Drive is good and it reads CDs and DVDs with no problem but I'm wondering how to get both the CD Drive that I have and the DVD drive to work on the same ribbon cable. I'll check later on today but in the past when I connect them both, they cancel each other out, I might try 2 DVD drives and see what happens

  ​@@Tucker1701you need to set the pinout on the back of the cd and dvd drives. I believe the end of the ide cable is for the master and the middle of the cable is for the slave

  An old Chromebook fix: Try logging in as a Guest and see if you have the same mouse issue. If you don't, then there's a settings issue with your main profile. You'll need to delete it and re-add it to fix.
