I really hate it when people refer to my people as Tswanas, please people there's no such thing, we are Batswana and we speak Setswana, get that in your heads.
For this few minutes, I lived vicariously through you..... it's strange for you to grow in me through watching your videos. Take care and please be safe - Mpumi
BaSotho (Tswana, Pedi, Sotho) history is very deep and ancient but unfortunately misunderstood. There people in the nothren cape, south Africa call the Kurana they are what people would call khoiSan. Im originally from kuruman, and the Tswana people there speak about a bantu expansion instead of bantu migration. From my understanding Batswana originated in southern african then migrated north west to the sudans 🇸🇩. Hence baRolong history speaks of batswana being black smiths and trading in east africa. We should really speak more about baSotho history. Its deep and amazing.
Beautiful 😘👌
From one guitar player to another...this is beautiful, keep it up
Thank you ☺️
@lecee if you are in jhb, and would like to perform, let me know.

Corrections!!! It's 2 million people in botswana speaking Setswana
yes I mentioned that the article is outdated in the video already, I said the population “is not” 1 million
Northern Sotho is an official language in Zimbabwe and its spoken by a people called Babirwa found at Gwanda and Kezi(kgetsi).Tswana is also a Zim official language and spoken in Gwanda ,Mpoeng and Plumtree.
Oh wow this is quite fascinating, in all honesty.
True natural African beauty
Thank you
Today I'm seeing beautiful Batswana people can I come live there? I promise to learn the language.
Botswana people are definitely quite beautiful… If you want to move there permanently then you can read up on it here www.ibn.co.za/botswana/#:~:text=You'll%20need%20to%20go,an%20approval%20or%20rejection%20letter.
i want to tqake uou out / im a guy living in gaborone
This is not entirely true. We went on holiday in Botswana some yrs back, customs officias @ Martins Drift were we soo rude we could not believe it. At Ngoma border post into Namibia we were told Mahikeng is part of Botswana n should b brought back.
Thanx for watching and for commenting. :-) That just means we had different experiences, not that mine isn’t true. Maybe it’s new staff since you went a couple of years back. Also I did state that these are based on my personal experiences and that I’m not an expert on all things Botswana 🇧🇼
African Continent the home of beauty. Take a look at beautiful and naturally light skin African women. She is mixed with nothing, purely indigenous people of Southern part of African Continent.
Hi, great content! Yes, Lozi is spoken in Namibia, primarily in the Zambezi region bordering Zambia. Setswana is also spoken in Gobabis, Namibia, near the Botswana border, where the Tswana tribe resides and even have a king.
Thanks for the information and for watching the vid. Much appreciated 🕊️….
The results of colonial borders. Tswana folks in South Africa, Namibia and probably some portions of Zambia. That’s why I advocate for rethinking our borders in a way that fosters African unity, peace and development
The flies ste mot just because of cows but is opportunistic behaviour for desert animals. It's do dry snd empty elsewhere that human settlements sre the only place where there is a steady supply of food n water
Wouldn't trust the anthropologists. But i do lament how little history South Africa teaches its children
South African history is everyone’s own responsibility in schools which is honestly not that great. African history in schools is a wish. However perhaps times are changing and subject matter is being updated. From my memory I only remember ever being formerly taught Western History in all honesty.
@@lecee thanks for the reply. There's so much more to the Sotho-Tswana n Pedi story than you can imagine. Unfortunately in your SA there's a distinct bias towards the Nguni mythology of fierce warriors blah blah. The Americans often described Botswana as Africa's exception, not realising it's the Tswana, Sotho, and Pedi thing that is the exception, not the country per se. I wish we had a better forum, then I would show you some astonishing things. But western anthropology has got it so wrong about us
macdonalds is overrated
I was in bots in August i stayed a month. Bots is my favourite country ❤
It is so serene, honestly.
McDonald's is old school in the USA. Those stores are going out of business. They have not changed their menu in the last 50years. It's unhealthy food for old people.
Same in SA, menu hasn’t changed in forever but it isn’t going out of business this side as yet. I’m used to seeing a McDonalds in every country I travel to, not seeing one is a notable difference in my opinion.
I don't see where you are from?
🇿🇦
You're beautiful and articulate
Thank you
You should research more and create content about this, it`s interesting because I`m Motswana but my parents come from Barotse tribe known as Lozi in Zambia according to comments I have read here.
I definitely plan to.
Ones dem sis it’s all related to the Bantu language blessings!!
0/10 you are too nice. That movie sucked. And the missing scenes. Dude. Dude
lol I hear you. At least you managed to watch it all the way (I assume)…
its really about you if i have to choose and with so many similarities it has to be because of you eye of the beholder you are my mirror so many similarities cute just like cupid yeh his pretty as well yeh he looks just like you as well yeh does not like beef yeh that's the only difference yeh he does not talk to anyone but yeh he will talk to you yeh his similar to other guys yeh but his a man yeah but at heart his younger and more fragile than you yeah his a man but you wouldn't believe his never had beef before still looking for that special one sincerely Ejike
Good video! What tribe from Africa do you descend from?
Thank you. Partially Northern Sotho, partially Setswana.
@@lecee That's cool!
Tlogelang ngwanà kea le kopa tuu .O montle ga ke gane stoutetjies
lol kealeboga
South African people especially who resides in townships should first stop dumping in every open space they find flies are a nightmare for residents there so don't judge
Sestwana (the surfix_wana)is for bantu mean children.... So setswana from a Kenya perspective...means children (or descendants..or the dialect of the setswana...
I can attest and verify to you that the whole lot of Southern African bantu are almost mutually intelligible with Bantus in the East of Africa,...and us in the east again find so many similarities with the drc...the base is actually same....all of us the (bantu)really started our migration some where in the congo...
Incorrect as anthropologically/scientifically the earliest human remains was discovered in Turkana Kenya near Mt Kirinyaga also referred to as Mount Zion!!.
I come from East Africa, Rwanda and eastern DRC precisely. I like your video; I feel your content has elements of truth but as to Tswana speaking dialects in east Africa, I haven't seen any as far as I am concerned, in fact many of the dialects used in east Africa are said to originate from the horn of Africa, the region encompassing modern day Ethiopia, Somalia and probably the Sudan
Dumelang mommy sokolate ❤❤❤
You play guitar very well. Have you ever taken a guitar course before? In the meantime, you should make other cover videos.❤
Thank you.
You are pretty
Thank you
Are you still in Bw?
Not at present.
There are Setswana speaking in Namibia too.
Yes that's right, I mentioned that and inserted an image at 5:57 in this video
Seems like Botswana is the way to go. I hope I could visit that country one day.
I hope you get a chance to visit, it’s good for the soul to just be in a relaxed environment for a prolonged period. Truly.
you are very talented
Thank you
You should come to Namibia 🇳🇦 so i host you
One notable example is the Manyana Rock Shelter in Botswana, which is not in South Africa but shares cultural similarities with Tswana architecture. This site features circular stone structures believed to have been inhabited by the ancestors of the Tswana people over a thousand years ago. However, in South Africa, there are likely similar ancient circular dwellings scattered throughout regions historically inhabited by Tswana communities, but specific examples would require archaeological investigation or local knowledge.
Yes. There is a place south of Johannesburg called thaba ya batswana in Kliprivierberg. It is an old Batswana settlement
🦅
In Zimbabwe they are Babirwa people and tswana found in Plamtree and kezi and some parts of Zimbabwe
Those are tourists and people who migrated from Botswana into Zimbabwe mostly insearch of better climate, better weather as zimbabwe has nice weather all year round than blazing hot Botswana and better fertile land as well. Its still pretty nice in nothern zimbabwe where most Tswanas in Zimbabwe are found though its nowhere near as beautiful as the easten highlands, mashonaland west province as well as mash east province.
Oh, this reminds me. My ex told me that the place, Kezi, was originally called Kgetse and they have a man who rides a donkey cart written "mphemphe o a lapisa". So whenever I speak Setswana, she'd be reminded of home.
The lozi people are from South Africa, they were displaced during Mfcane and left what is South Africa today and migrated North.
Really? Oh my goodness, I did not know that, thank you for enlightening me😊
The Kololo were from SA, migrated north and colonized the Lozi [Luyana] state. After their overthrow and assimilation by the Lozi [Luyana], their language 'Makololo' became the lingua franca of Bulozi [Barotse - the Lozi state]
