Does anyone know the diameter of the hole cut in the granite for the faucet. I have a brand new faucet that comes with instructions with no size for the hole to be cut and I don't have vernier calipers to measure it. By just a ruler and my eye it looks like 1 1/4" across the tread. Is there a common hole size ???

Excellent instructions. Good idea to add putty when mounting the faucet.

Unless the owner preferred the handle to point front, otherwise the handle should be mostly on right or left side. I have the same faucet with handle on the right side.

If it is positioned to the right or left and there is no space in the back for the faucet dial to rotate it has to be positioned in a different way. Still functional

its a grossly oversized faucet for that location, probably couldn't rotate fully if on the side

Those two screws are for tightening faucet to top not for leveling ! Screw nut hand tight then tighten screws till faucet is tight don't over tighten ! The top and cabinet should be level when installed.

Never apply putty to a stone surface. The stone will pull the oil out of the putty that keeps it malleable. That oil will also permanently stain the surface. In this case the stain won't matter, but I promise you that in less than a year that putty it going to crumble like an overbaked cookie; rendering that putty useless. #DontDropYourPlumber

You are right! Don't need putty when rubber gasket is used, putty tends to dry out and fail quicker than the rubber. Rubber gasket alone can do the job of sealing or use silicone

When installing a faucet on a new countertop we always install it before dropping in your countertops. It's a lot easier, no need to go under your cabinet, unless you have to.

Yeah my faucet comes loose after about 4 days. I have to keep crawling under the sink to tighten it. But the action of swiveling it back and forth between the two sides of the sink always ends up making the thing come loose again. Really frustrating.
