Your 70+ how long you been taping? …tape butt before flats..that’s tapping 101. If you were smart you’d joined a union back in 1965 and would be living the good life by now 😎

What's your stance on the fiber tape that doesn't have a sticky back and embeds in like paper?

I think the point of the wet sponge technique is to save the dust. It’s a trade off, not as effective as sanding but avoids the dust. Up to you what’s more important

That’s a nice steady hand. I like the way he cuts the sides. Nice feathering out. Very good work on butt joints. It’s kind of like art work. Nice work.

I have done drywall and been a painter for over 25 years. The only thing i see wrong with your technique is the fact you are wearing sneakers.Always boots on the job site or your foots could suffer a loss.

It's great that you even recognize that DIY'ers don't have the time constraints of someone in the trade. I've seen other drywall KZread channels poo poo this method but I agree with you that it is valid for a beginner. There are lots of drywall examples of this that could be pointed out, it could be a whole video.

I’ve had mesh tape on my basement walls for over 20 years. The strength comes from plaster, primer and paint. I’ve never seen mesh come off. However, I have seen seams come apart with paper tape because the mudding was too thin or it started to dry before the tape application.

Wrong! Put the horizontal piece of cornerbead on First. And butt the vertical pieces into horizontal. Use joint tape if you want it’s still thinner than the Bead on the cornerbead. If you want to keep a low profile to fill in gap.. cut a triangle piece of metal off one side of bead and slide metal under one side of gap

The angles are all in need of more mud over the tape. If you used a Bazooka , which puts more mud on , you would have angles that had the proper coverage over tape

10 year taper here. This is indeed how to hand tape a flat across. I do recommend pulling it a little bit tighter than that to have it fully under bevel height all the way across to save a bit of mud on the fill coat.

I find the all purpose ready mix drywall compound shrinks when drying. If you level out the ready mix drywall compound and it dries it becomes out of level. When it is unlevel it will show.

Your videos are really easy to follow, thank you. I am attempting to repair joint tape. After the steps in the video would you then apply another layer of joint compound over the tape and once that is dry sand the edges where the joint compound meets the wall and then the walls are ready to paint?

It's a drywall product called "Never-Miss". It doesn't bleed through. Yellow or Blue pigments are usually safe. Red pigments have a reputation for bleeding through.
