This is what Shea says: K20 had just the oem oil cooler and occasionally saw 245-250. I put the k24a in, supercharged the car and built the custom -10 AN lines front mounted dual pass bar and plate cooler, thermostat controlled. Highest I’ve seen 215-220* max

Great builds! I have a 22 GR86 6AT, and its my first rwd sports car. Its mainly a daily street build/weekend track car and its one of the best platforms Ive owned. I have s2000 and FK8. If you can only have one car between GR86 or FL5....it would be the GR86....and save the rest of the money for something else better in our lifetime. New Type R's are too big, and lack the same feel as the 90's 2000's fun cars. GR86 is as good as it gets for now , despite having engine weakness.

which cams does the 272whp K24 have? you said drop in a couple time but then also sounded like you said stage 2 at one point? also, 3" exhaust doesn't mean it has to be loud... just get good resonators and mufflers. check out the Full-Race exhaust for the 8th gen civic. full 3", not loud, no rasp

NC is the best gen... With a 2.5 they are just fantastic 👌 I found the ND to feel too wimsy and digital in comparison, and the NA/NB are too old + chassis' don't feel rigid enough.

It's hilarious how as we get older we go back to basic cars for fun. I also drove very expensive cars before I ended up with a GR86 and an Integra Type S which is basically the same thing as this video. Very similar mods too! I'm on the verge of adding forced induction to the GR86. Still deciding if I should turbo the GR86 as I may "disturb" the original GR setup. I'm going to enjoy them unless I fall in love with the new MB CLE53 AMG or wait for the 63!

maybe if you're just driving around like normal to avoid lurching, but the fastest drivers on tsukuba in these cars, including nobuteru taniguchi, allow a bit of clutch drag on each downshift.

@@apex_gr if you're drag the clutch while trying to decelerate fast, you're gonna jerk the car and disrupt balance. There's a reason why you're supposed to rev match...to match the revs for the next gear down. I don't need to be a god tier racer to understand this. Go watch more in car footage of race drivers. You'll see how they all blip enough to not cause that lurching. It's a smooth heel toe - rev match - downshift as they approach a corner. And they upgrade clutches because they're racing with high horsepower cars. Clutches just simply wear out faster, not because they're purposely dragging the clutch. SMH.

This is actually how rx7 look stock. But alot of track/drift cars do cut for removing weight. If cut, It would be ideal to replace with tubular frame work or plated steel like you said

If you had a 2011 thru 2013 with the Z07 Performance Package you'd have carbon ceramic breaks from the ZR1 2011 thru 2013 are the only 3 years that Package was available on the C6 Z06 in my opinion the C6 Z06/Z07 is the best all around Corvette ever made.

Hey Jorge, I think it’s mainly because alot of track cars are dual purpose cars. Alot of guys drive to track especially on newer cars with multiple airbags. With that said, most competition cars will have a roll cage/ roll bars since it is only being used as a track car. Now for 80-90s cars specifically, i think it’s a great idea to have at least a roll bar. I need to do this on my personal car too! Typically, weld on cage with proper designed plates is way to go!
