Been there and stood right under the salmon.
IMPORTANT: Apparently the amount of permits to get to Mendenhall glacier are now limited so popular shuttles like the Blue Bus are basically impossible to get unless you're very early in the season. I had read older info on Trip Advisor and Cruise Critic that getting to Mendenhall was easy and you could just find a tour on the docks. I foolishly decided to just wing it and look for a shuttle when we got there and there were NONE available and only full on tours that had limited time at the glacier were available. I tried to get an Uber but for whatever reason I couldn't get a good signal and never was able to hail one. In desperation I had to hail a Taxi and with tip that cost me 143 bucks. Ouch. My suggestion, try and reserve a shuttle it's about 45 a person, a tour of the town with stop at glacier is about 85 per person. Public bus is vastly cheaper but it will take a good chunk of time (Our port call wasn't very long so we wanted the most time possible at the glacier). Otherwise a taxi is about 120 (I gave 25 tip as the guy was really good and came back right on time to pick us up as there is no cell service cabs will come back for you at a specified time). If you can buddy up with a few other passengers it can be pretty reasonable.
This is not Mexico. Its gringo land.
Nice place so we looked at houses. Wow way to expensive Like way Way expensive. But nice. Little more than our house in the United States.
Great video, thank you!
How long did it take you to walk to the falls. We will be there in a couple of weeks.
Thank you for a AWESOME video. Will be there next week❤
So very sorry for your loss. I’ve always loved your videos.
Port monkeys? This is a terrible name. Suggest you change it
To confirm we dock within walking distance of attractions at the port... love your videos very informative.
Nice job showing this port town.
Thanks for this information. My cruise is not until Sept 2025, but I am beginning to determine that weather reports are only good for about 6 hrs. 🙂
Slippery trail
What rainproof pants do you recommend?
Your walking tour videos are the best.
Oh the shuttle looks like a better idea than the city bus, especially if raining.
A Costco with no pizza!!!!
That sure was clear water in the pond.
How far was the international port from the puerta Maya port?
I actually felt sad 😞 when the ship was pulling away.
❤❤❤🎉🎉
Beautiful scenery. It made me feel cool in Summer . Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing did you need the mosquito net? I never bothered with one when I was in Iceland

There was an interesting museum at the end of Creek Street(across the Creek). The Tongass Historical Museum.
We have been in that museum. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.
Hello. Great detailed video. Thank you for providing all your videos. We are planning on visiting May 2026. Thought of crushing, but decided on flying in and renting a car. Your videos helped get a different perspective than other videos we’ve seen. Again thank you
Thank you for all the info
You're welcome.
Thank you, thr glacier is breathtaking.
Yes they are, especially in person.
We like to save money too so we can sail more often.
We may just be cheap.
Beautiful trees, very crowded. 👍
Just found your video. I will also be flying from LAX to Buenos Aires. Did you find a direct flight, or did you have to change planes along the way?

Such an amazing town!
23:25 it says "where is the new constitution?" It's a political statement. Our constitution was supposed to be revised but it never happened.
A tour guide explained that to us later in the cruise.
I don't know how to tell you this, but you only explored about half the town. It extends into the fjord and has a golf course and stuff.
That's too bad that we missed it. It was rainy and cold and we were tired. Bur we're going back in August.
Fun fact: those walls on the mountain side are there to protect the town from avalanches.
That is a fun fact, thank you! Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.
Are there lounge chairs available for grabs if they're sold out? If so, how do you know which ones are rented and which one are for public use?
The lounge chairs are free to use. They are first come, first served. Like on the ship, people reserve them by putting their stuff on them. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.
Great video!
Thanks for the visit.
I love your videos, thank you!
You are so welcome!
Great video, thank you !
You are welcome!
You mentioned the cannabis store. Note: I'm seeing on other video's that cruise ships strictly prohibit bringing any cannabis on board.
That is true. We point out many of the stores we pass by in port. Of course, the ship has little control of what you do while in port. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.
Did you buy the tour through a travel site or from a tour guide person in maza
This wasn't a tour. We walked from the ship to the ferry dck and paid for the ride. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.
Looks beautiful
It was!
Are the ports separated from the town like they are in Caribbean ports? Thank you for the informative video.
In Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway you dock right in town. Several other Alaska ports too. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.
Please liven up your videos
OK.
We was there at the end August of 23.
