    What if the wire came on from the middle of the mouth and not at the last bracket

  • @ModernOrthodonticsMelbourne
    @ModernOrthodonticsMelbourne14 күн бұрын

    Unless the wire is broken, it is usually possible to just push the wire back in especially if it is a flexible wire. :)

    Some of the bracket designs are harder to close with fingers, it would be best to see your doctor to check and fix. :)

    It would be best to contact your orthodontist/dentist to trim the wire. In the meantime, you may use wax to cover it. Please see this video :) kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6ipxbOOn7SZh6Q.html

  • @ModernOrthodonticsMelbourne

    If the clips are not functioning, it would affect the effectiveness of the braces. Your orthodontist can put rubber rings on those bracket if needed, to ensure the wire is fully engaged. :)

    I have a question i bent my wire but fixed it with my finger but it says the wire wont work anymore if you fix it yourself? Is it true?

  • @ModernOrthodonticsMelbourne
    @ModernOrthodonticsMelbourne2 ай бұрын

    Hi! It depends on what type of wire it is. If it is a Niti wire which is usually used in the early stage ( first few months) of the treatment, the wire should have a memory to spring back and would still work fine most of the time. It is best to be checked by your treating doctor. :)

    I’m gonna try this but i think what i have is a little different. The wire connects to my molar and the tooth next to it, it’s a completely seperate wire than the one on the rest of my teeth. I went back to my orthodontist three days after they put it on because it came out, I don’t want to go back again cause it’s an hour drive.

    Hi Vivien, this can be used for adult patients. However, each case is different, the treating orthodontist has to make the assessment based on your specific condition. :)

    The wire on one of my top teeth was fully out after 2 weeks of having my braces on. I didn't know this was what to search for fixing it so I ended up going in to get it fixed and ends up about 5 of the gates were open 😶. I swear I've followed all the "rules" and not eaten anything chewy but I felt so accused when my ortho asked "Have you eaten anything chewy", to which I said no and got a hum in response 😭 I plead innocent!! Idk what happened :')

    Did you use bare finger to bend the wire?

  • @bunmarceno5673
    @bunmarceno56733 ай бұрын

    @@settawutkongkapirat7457You can do this too, just did it myself. Line it up at either side of the bracket, then push it up till the end catches on the hole its supposed to go. After this, put pressure on a certain point of the bent arch, such that the line pushes into the hole slowly. I can't really describe how else to do this other than to do it gently and slowly so that the line doesn't skid off to the side instead and risk it dragging against your gums or the lining of your cheeks. it'll def take a few tries.
