Shawn had the answer to the question how to sound monotonous by playing thousands of notes. I know that his fans are not only biased .. but simply uninitiated.. and that's fine.. but their constant need to seek approval by e.g. comparing him to a TRULY great player like Holdsworth.. is just silly and missing the mark with a distance of lightyears.

I didn't know Shawn Lane was that good at alternate-picking. I thought he was strictly a legato player like Holdsworth. Too bad he didn't do an acoustic project, like the McLaughlin, Paco, Di Meola thing. That would have made his legacy even more awesome.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. The scope and scale of the music, the amount of mind blowing improvisation, and the fact that Shawn pulled this off on a last minute borrowed Epiphone LP with a bad cable. Yikes!! I am not worthy.
