Camptown ladies sing this song, Doo-dah! doo-dah! Camptown race-track five miles long, Oh, doo-dah day! I come down here with my hat caved in, Doo-dah! doo-dah! I go back home with a pocket full of tin, Oh, doo-dah day! CHORUS Gonna run all night! Gonna run all day! I'll bet my money on the bob-tail nag, Somebody bet on the bay. The long tail filly and the big black hoss, Doo-dah! doo-dah! They fly de track and they both cut across, Oh, doo-dah-day! The blind hoss sticken in a big mud hole, Doo-dah! doo-dah! Can't touch bottom with a ten foot pole, Oh, doo-dah day! CHORUS Old muley cow come on to the track, Doo-dah! doo-dah! The bob-tail fling her over his back, Oh, doo-dah-day! Then fly along like a rail-road car, Doo-dah! doo-dah! Runnin' a race with a shootin' star, Oh, doo-dah-day! CHORUS See them flyin' on a ten mile heat, Doo-dah! doo-dah! Round the race track, then repeat, Oh, doo-dah-day! I win my money on the bob-tail nag, Doo-dah!, doo-dah! I keep my money in an old tow bag, Oh, doo-dah-day! CHORUS -end Doo Dah!

My 60 was a Fairlane with Galaxie trim for some reason. I never knew why it had that. My best ET was maybe 13:90. I won several trophies at Green Valley Raceway in TX. I also had a 63 Galaxie 406 and I had a 64 Sport Fury and a 69 Roadrunner (383s) that I wish I still had. I never owned a 427, but to this day I still want a 64 Falcon 427.

I know I've always loved the fuel dragsters and funny cars. I remember back in the early 60's the "experts" said no vehicle could possibly go 200 mph from a standing start in a quarter mile, even if the tires were glued to the track. I guess that proved to be wrong. I raced my 1960 Ford that was Ford's first attempt at a muscle car. It was a 352CI with 360HP and I kept being told that you couldn't have more HP than CIs. I guess that proved wrong also. I got lots of flak at the dragstrips because it had headers, dual point ignition, aluminum intake, Holley AFB, solid lifters and a racing cam, clutch and transmission. The Chevy crowd wanted me nixed.@@PEEL2000
