The Eastman features superior hand craftsmanship (Martin's are largely machine built now) and has superior tone wood on the top: Adirondack Red Spruce. In time, the Eastman will completely blow that Martin D-28 away. It holds it's own right now....

I have to thank you for introducing me to Levin - despite being in Europe I was not familiar with them. I had been looking for a parlour guitar for some time without success, so your lucky break pointed me in the right direction and I sourced a beautiful little 1925 model from a collector in Denmark, which just arrived yesterday and is everything I was looking for. OK so I had to pay somewhat more than $8 but a nevertheless a huge saving compared to the Martins, Collings etc I had been looking at. So thanks, your good luck sent me in the right direction.

May I offer a small tip on making your own picks as i have difficlty getting to the shop, draw a line around your favorite pick with a sharpie and use an old credit card (or your wifes card) use a file to give it 'direction' i also put a small drop of super glue on them only one side then sprinkle sand on them, helps you grip, Beach sand is easy for me many thanks for the review and great playing,

Wow, I just went to watch the clip properly. That's why you wrote that in the description! Great lesson, thanks man, and also great playing. What a guitar!, I had never heard of the brand. I assumed from the sound it was a Gibson. Thanks a lot for this mate. Doc Watson means a lot to me and has done for 20 years or so. You have the perfect attitude to do a lesson on this song also, quiet, serious. From a 38 yr old in Australia
