We need to see him on his feet doing a press conference in answering questions that he's not prepared for necessarily. Anybody can be given a script and can read off of it like a teleprompter. We need to know that he's still able to articulate his position and criticism of Trump without pre-prepared remarks and without completely fumbling over his words and not being able to complete a sentence. If he can prove that then he should stay in the race. If you can't do that Harris is a perfectly good and optically great person for Biden to gracefully resign for. He needs to either just make her top of the ticket and not unfor reelection or he needs to make her the prominent person on the campaign trail and make it clear that a vote for Biden Harris is a vote for Harris to become president when Biden needs to retire. You can even make some sort of medical excuse that would make people even more sympathetic.
