blacfoundation

The Black Languages, Arts, & Culture FOUNDATION is based in the US and was founded by Dr. Edward L. Powe to create a greater awareness of and appreciation for the history and culture of Black peoples around the world. In short, the BLAC Foundation seeks to affirm BLACK HUMANITY and promote a psychic conversion that creates networks and groups that foster love, care and concern for and within black communities around the world. Just as the Chinese Republican period (1912-1948) heralded native fighting techniques as the means of rebuilding the spirits and the bodies of its citizens who were faced with the onslaught o Western athletics, so the BLAC Foundation has chosen Capoeira and Umlabalaba to help develop the bodies, minds, and spirit of Black citizenry. See www.blafoundation.org for articles, photo galleries, videos with context, and much more.

African-American version of capoeira Knocking and Kicking. It was practice on the sea islands by the Gullah Geechee people. It's a more aggressive version of the martial arts used in combat situation people that practice is martial arts would often be used as bodyguards to the Masters that they were serving. Knocking and Kicking were also used in the Seminole Wars or what people prefer to call them now. The Gullah Wars

This exactly a type of Drum music called Kumina from Jamaica. It is played sitting on top of the drum and someone at the back tapping the sticks on the back of the drum. Kumina drumming came with captures prisoner to Jamaica from the Congo region so maybe certain tribes from Congo moved down south into Zambia... Very interesting. Shows the Jamaican connection to Africa

This particular type of dolphin is not protected. Moreover, fishermen of this village are authorized to hunt whales with harpoons, much in the same way that certain aboriginees can hunt manatees in australia.
