  Well the dead GS type 1 has been replaced with an NEG electronic bell earlier this morning and I got to take the old bell with me so it didn’t get thrown away!

  0:56 That's because the one without the gong attached was partially made by US&S, while the other one is completely original WABCO. You can see that difference from 2:00 to 2:17.

  I don't believe NS has any SD90MACs running as they rebuilt all of them into SD70ACus a few years ago, and then retired several of those rebuilds.

  If you're ever around Columbus GA again sometime soon. You should try and chase 378 or 379 down the Columbus District. There's 5 defect detector on the line. 278.8 at Lake Pines, 268.5 at Box Springs, 254.4 at Junction City, 240.3 at Butler and 225.4 at Nakomis. 240.3 and 225.4 are still STC SmartScan NGs as of June 1st 2024. 278.8 and 254.4 are STC SmartScan NG2s. Not sure about 268.5 though.
