    You might want to start a second "control" experiment to judge things by. I don't think you'll see much happen though. Rust is caused by the oxygenation (burning) of the iron. Oxygen can't access the iron that easily while under water. I'd try soaking for a day and then exposing to air, perhaps keeping it under a tarp so the moisture doesn't evaporate that much. Also, have one un-altered item for comparison so you can judge the progress.

  • @frankburkhalter291
    @frankburkhalter291 Жыл бұрын

    i do have unalter pcs in this experiment. remember there is oxygen in h2o. plus i have added the redwood and iron.... so this may turn out more black than rust. i am in no hurry, 12/04/ 2022 and then exspose to air.

  • @patglenn7762
    @patglenn7762 Жыл бұрын

    @@frankburkhalter291 There is.... But I've seen it on things like docks where the rusting will occur mainly on the waterline and not below - at least not initially. But what I'm really thinking is that the thin layer of cement on the surface layer of your concrete may actually be what's causing most of the rusting inhibition.

    I'm so curious - were your zuccas not bitter? Ours were SO bitter! And we tried cooking them in every possible way but it was like trying to eat slimy bitter squid! Even the smell was terrible! Which was unexpected because the blossoms smelled good like melon and cucumber. How did you end up eating yours?

  • @frankburkhalter291

    Just straight with salt. i also airfryed some with spray oil and salt. The texture was great and crisp better than cucumber, really no taste. i fryed some blooms and they where tougher than squash and okra blooms. I might of got lucky in picking at right time, it was fresh from the vine.
