I've stumbled into montage making and love to shine the spotlight on the bodies of work of directors, the genre of horror, in memoriams and other random stuff.
One of my very favorite filmmakers, right up there with Disney and Spielberg!! An American Tail is definitely my biggest fave, with several others close behind!! Thank you Don for saving my teens and twenties!

I really appreciate Genet choice of actors. Pinon or Perlman in France we said "se sont des acteurs qui ont une gueule" literally meaning: they are actors how have a face. I wouldn't really know how to translate an "atypical face" but in a good way. We could put Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro, Jack Nicholson on the list. These are not natural good-looking actors like Brando, di Caprio and so on. I wouldn't say it's courageous, but rather than "dirtying" an actor who has a good looking face, he prefers to take on a face that is already atypical. Most director would prefer have a big name and "dirtying" the face of the actor.

I was fortunate to have been friends with Joan Fontaine since I was 16 in summer stock in Fayetteville NY. For over 55 years we were friends and I spoke with her 3 days before her death. She was one amazing woman, and funny and gracious. She was an important part of my life. Classic Images Magazine knew I was a friend of Joan's and asked me to write a little article about Joan. I started and kept writing and writing. It was long and I figured they would pick what they wanted to print. The magazine printed every word as written with pictures of Joan. It was over 6 pages long. I the received an email from her sister Olivia, it was simple. " It must have been very special being friends with my sister". IT was special..
