Have you ever just sat there and BLASTED in 1 spot for like 2 whole minutes? Never seen a video of anyone doing that. Could be interesting!
@rodecometalfinishing838622 сағат бұрын
I actually have....I once set up a fixed gun to blast a piece of steel, so we could determine media breakdown percentages. I will try and find that video and upload it for you.

We offer finishing services to several firearms manufactures. These specific parts are just samples we have for testing purposes. That bowl being used is our small "test bowl" where we can test different types of media on parts (smaller bowl makes it easier to switch out the media quickly)

What is the maximum psi that ceramic beads can be used at? I am looking for glass bead type of finish but with more aggressive cleaning action... Can i use ceramic at 90-110 psi without excessive damage to beads like there would by with glass?
@rodecometalfinishing838610 ай бұрын
I wouldn't suggest that high of pressure, as it will breakdown the media faster. That said, it will still last much longer than glass bead at that psi. You will need to determine if the bead wear rate is to high for you at that pressure.

Doesn't clean the inside or the primer pocket. I size and deprime before wet tumbling with stainless pins is best for me. Separating media is kind of a pain but inside, outside and primer pockets look like new. The brass here looks good. Do what is best for you.
@novicereloader2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I was doing cleaning without media for about a year, but the carbon inside the case was just building up with each reload. I just built myself a better system and am using steel chips. Huge improvement.

Very true. Does a good job of cleaning the outside, but not much for the inside.
