  holy....... i was sceptical since all youtube videos of reverse engeneering software alway make it look super simple. But they always work with data that is just perfect, and that does not happen in real life all that often. Everytime i recreate these totorials it fails or it just gives me crap Data. So i wasnt expecting this one to perform any better. Luckily there was a free trail, so no harm. and damn did it not disapoint! i worked on my 3d scan dataset for my new video with fusion 360, rhino, inventor and all the others. But they would put out wonky parts so back to surfacemodeling manually again. Tryed for 3 days since im bad at surface modeling. I was expecting errormessages, promts like "please align your surfaces manually" or just one side as a floating surface without volume. nope, one klick..... bam, huge nurbs (not even a million small ones like other programms). I was at least expecting open surfaces that i need to stitch in inventor and fail then..... nop importet perfectly. Tryed right away to substract someting from it in inventor.... worked perfectly.... Well done Quicksurface.... I am very impressed. I work in 3d printing and reverse engeneering for more than a decade now and never saw that. Since im now in research i recomended your programm to my old friends in the industry.

  The company i work for in Germany prduced this Part. There are the letters CDP. This is maybe 30 years old, we are forging a lot of car and truck parts. What a surprise to found this in a Video.

  Would be VERY useful if this flattening software could also work with TEXTURE MAPPED 3d objects like TouchCAD does. I.e. export flattened/unfolded cut outlines but also WITH the mapped tesselated clipped images for printing and fabricating inflatables.

  The problem might be if the mesh is watertight try the built-in quadremesher if it can handle it. Or you can contact us and we will look if we can help.

  i'm pretty sure, this VW part is still manufactured in the market if i'm not mistaken, this is the opening lever for the armrest on a Golf IV or Bora - VW still sells those for about 30 Euros nevertheless, this is a great way to demonstrate, you would do it with a part that is actually not available anymore - but the pricing is a bit out of line, if you are looking for a solution for a maker without any commercial interrests do you offer free solutions for educational / private use aswell?

  In version 5.0.54, the mesh is very uneven and far from what is shown in the video. On other models, the grid is exactly the same, i.e. completely uneven. Here is an example of what happens: i.imgur.com/pMtuWv1.jpg

  And what is the problem with your reporting? The bigger question is - why do you need single surface? What are you going to use this for? Or it is just a nice wish to have a single surface? If you take a look at NURBS theory, probably you can find more information about the capabilities and limitations of modelling with nurbs.

  @ahmednahdi4810 I don’t know of any software that can generate a single surface from such objects. Perhaps you can check powermill if it requires a single surface only. Or you may check other software. MasterCAM doesn't have these issues.

  Any function for creating splines on a surface (Multiple Section, New Free Form, etc.), lacks the "Adaptive" option, as it is done in Geomagic. Those, where the curvature is greater, there are more points; where the curvature is less, there are fewer points.

  Thank you for the video! It would be better to make it so that points can be interactively deleted, for example, by clicking on them with Alt-click. One more note. The undo command (Strl+Z) does not always work as it should: for example, if I extrude an object and then change my mind, then I have to remove this operation from the construction tree, because the cancel command does not work in this case.
