Nobody said Hamas were wrong for using violence. They said Hamas were wrong for targeting civilians. I'm no fan of Israel either, both parties have committed war crimes in this conflict. Then given this, was it not in the moral and legal right of the government to use violence against the Marxist revolutionaries? Furthermore, the speaker states that the revolutionaries, if they had successfully overthrown the government, would have prevented the rise of Hitler? But wasn't Hitler a counter-reaction to these very revolutions? If not for these Marxist revolutions, there might never have been a Hitler?

I won't be voting for any of them as none of them have my interests at heart. Representative democracy is a completely failed political structure and needs to be totally rejected, it only serves capital, including the left wing of capital. Those who claim to be 'revolutionary socialists' should definitely know better. We need truly independent, grass roots alternatives and collective direct action and revolt - real resistance against capitalism and the state and against hierarchy and oppression.. That's the only way.
Fiona is the one who is out of touch as she claims that the majority of the public back Palestine. I do not believe this to be the case and would like evidence that shows this. Does Fiona actually have any idea what "people in Britain" want? What was the polling, surveys, questionnaires? When asked a direct question she deflects and absolutely does not answer the question. Using exactly the tactics of groups such as Just Stop Oil, bug impressive sounding statements like "Genocide" "War Criminal" and "Criminal Enslavement". Sounds good, tells you nothing as details and facts to support those statements are not provided. Western imperialism and capitalism, that seems to be the true form at play. Communism hasn't been very successful has it? For sure, capitalism has its faults, though every country that has tried playing with socialism and communism have totally and utterly failed, with millions dead. Openly accusing someone of racism (through government policy) and being a "War Criminal", could that be viewed as slander? I've also noticed that when Fiona is asked about HAMAS, she says "I don't want to talk about HAMAS." HAMAS is a key player in the conflict so you cannot ignore it.

I'm actually really interested in a historical materialist analysis of why me and so many of my fellow Gen Xers are/were anarchists. Why did it explode with punk and continue thru rave? Was it the cassette tape? Pirate radio? Did the Keynesian welfare state (free university etc) mean we got complacent about the need to fight for state power in order to defend social services? Myself, I think UK punk-generation anarchism died when residential squatting was banned in 2012.
