love your channel!! 👍👍👍
Thank you, I appreciate the support.
I love to go back soon
It's a beautiful area, especially in the Summer
Good video, Bklyn. Audio was fine and illumination good too. You post good content. KZreadr Ginger on Wheels sells two variants of an apparently-powerful, big-battery scooter headlight. I have not yet purchased one but I might do so. Might be a tad heavy though. It would be great if you decided to further explore, in daytime, that rail trail of which you gave us a taste last winter.
Oh I have a couple recorded vids, just need to edit them. The furtherst I got was into goshen, I think th camera gave out on the way back but I should have all the video going there. My charger for the wheel died yesterday, need to buy a replacement.
👍🙂👍really nice announcement
Thank you, with any luck I can get some support to help fund this little hobby of mine.
you're welcome 🙂
Nice video, do the cops ever hassle you riding at night?
Haven't seen many cops at night or in the daytime where I ride. I've ridden by the police station a few times at night, they don't seem to care. But I don't ride crazy or call negative attention to myself so they might leave me alone.
👍🙂👍 awesome ride
Thank you 👍
you're welcome 🙂
I prefer to hear more of what your looking at and any personal information you care to share. Lots of times you show things that I really am interested in, but you don't say much about it. Edited or not edited, I guess I don't really care. I like most when you go places off the main roads where I will never see, as I don't travel as much as I use to. Living in the Catskills, so much to see, so little time. Once the Catskills were the place to be in the summer, but not so much anymore. Now its Florida and Disney, or Miami. (if you can afford it)
@@iworkout6912 yeah, I usually cut out a lot because I end up talking to much or get distracted/side tracked and start looking at other things. Apparently, if I left that in the video would ve more like a "vlog", from what I have been told. Maybe, that will become member's only "content". I actually deleted a lot of unedited videos like that, I didn't think I could use them. I'd like to make more, soon.
I'm 63 and I love it.
@@angelcolon9017 I only wish I had one sooner.
Beautiful trail.
It is, but it's a little too rough and wild in some spots, good for walking but not for riding, was scouting it out as a potential riding spot. I did see two garter snakes on the trail, wasn't fast enough to catch them on camera, though.
👍🙂👍 really nice walk
Thank you, it was, the weather was great for it.
you're welcome 🙂
That area around 4:50 into your video, if I'm not mistaken that area was just starting to get under construction in 1990, the one house that was on the left, I believe I went to a party there in 1990 before it was fully built and occupied, I can remember the smell of wood as it was under construction. later on in the early 1900s I use to jog around that area and that whole area had houses under construction. And Tall Oaks has been VERY upgraded since 1990, in the 1980s that was subsidized housing and my grandmother lived there. One of the few white people that did. and its actually funny looking back on it now and not noticing things in the 1980s. The back side of Tall Oaks that faced the back end of the psych center, the residents on that side were pretty much all white. The rest of Tall Oaks was black. Not sure now if that was done by design. Some apartments, the bigger ones with two and three bedrooms had back doors that led out into a sort of common area with picnic benches and swings and stuff, but my grandmother had a one bedroom so no back door, but I remember looking out her small kitchen window and seeing all the "activities" that went on there.
Yeah, sounds like a lot has changed since then. Sounds like where I lived in Brooklyn, a lot of changes, sometimes good, sometimes bad... but it actually all depends on who you ask.
Good video of an intriguing place. Thank you, Bklyn. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middletown_State_Hospital maps.app.goo.gl/XUGvuFk5M92t3Mim7?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
Can you make the screen ginormous like with Apple vision pro.
When using the Big Screen App, the screen or theater you choose dictates the size of the screen. Even their smallest screen is pretty huge, though.
Great tour of the hospital grounds. I haven't been there in YEARS and forgot how big the property is. My father worked there from 1956 to his retirement 35+years later. As kids he would bring us to the pool on Sundays. It's a shame most of the buildings are abandoned. Thank you for the childhood memories❤
Thank you for the comment and the sharing your experiences, I'm fairly new to the area and enjoy learning more about it. I would love to see that building renovated and used for something that would benefit the community, that and the Historic Railroad station on 211. Maybe turn them into museums/landmarks?
I offer a sincere thank-you for this great update video. I had noticed the dearth of EUC videos over the past few months and am glad you have resumed posting. Content and audio both good; little bit of wind noise but acceptable. This trip shows a *vast* increase in speed, agility, and apparent riding confidence since your last EUC video. Clearly, you have been practicing a lot! Well done, Bklyn! My understanding is that riding to the beeps-of-impending-doom substantially increases the risk of a cut-out, face-plant, and associated serious injuries. When riding fast do you wear a full-face helmet and body armour to protect your face, jaw-bone, collar bone, etc.? We don't want you to get hurt. In previous videos you mentioned difficulties maintaining situational awareness of vehicles to your rear. Have you found a wrist mirror and/or helmet mirror that meets your needs? Looking forward to more EUC videos, and please stay safe!
Thank you so much for the comment and interest. I actually have multiple videos recorded over the last several months, but editing was an issue so they became backlogged. I am working on getting them posted in the order they were recorded and you might be able to see the gradual improvement over time. Up until this recent video I was wearing A full face motorcycle helmet, padded motorcycle jacket, shin/knee guards, and wrist guards. This ride I decided to try going light weight, with a standard bicycle helmet, shin guards, wrist guards and the new gloves. It does provide less protection during a fall, but it provides more awareness to my surroundings, less blind spots and better hearing. I was never able to hear the warning sounds with my full face helmet but with this helmet I can. I am looking into a different helmet that can do both, protect my face but also allow for better vision and hearing. The difficulty seeing behind me was resolved with just getting better at riding. Before, I had difficulty turning my head and body enough to see behind me without losing control of the wheel, now I can do so more freely without losing control. I do want to learn how to ride seated and backwards and make videos showing those skills.

Nice ride. And great video quality. Keep up the good work. And thanks for the sub. I really appreciate it
Thanks, I really enjoyed making that video. And thank you for the sub as well
Nice area. I do miss the green sometimes.
And it pops up out of nowhere. It's gloomy grey death for months and then an explosion of green
👍🙂👍 really nice ride
Thank you, it was a great little ride

I love the music!
Glad to hear that, it's not always easy to find Copyright Free Music that sounds good.
I pass through Wilkes-Barre and Scranton whenever I drive to Toronto from Philadelphia.
Sounds like a long drive
@@BklynOutdoors The drive from Philadelphia to Toronto is usually 7 1/2 hours.
@@Diya6587 I'm always amazed by people that can drive more than 4 hours straight... my back doesn't let me do that anymore
@BklynOutdoors I am sorry to hear that. Pretty soon when I get my own car, I am planning to go on long drives. I am planning to visit Halifax in Nova Scotia, and it is a 15-hour drive from here in Philadelphia.
@@Diya6587 Sounds great I wish you the best of experiences, maybe you can document the trip on video to share with the rest of us?
Sure is getting green there. Very fun drive.
Yeah, it's pretty much Summer, bugs and all; as you might be able to tell from the windshield.
👍🙂👍👏🙂👏 very relaxing ride
Glad you enjoyed it
It is funny how much you can get used to.
I'm much better at it, but I need more practice and training.

Sullivan County, NY....I had a great time there....April 1973......I came there from New Rochelle, NY driving a blue Olds 442.
Nice. Thank you, I always like to hear some history about these places I visit.
Very nice video, wish I could move there.
It's a nice little quiet area, winters can be rough, though.

That brown house on your right at the 17:18 mark is affectionately known as the Froghouse house for obvious reasons. It looks like a frog.
I didn't notice it before, but now that you mention it I can't NOT see it that way anymore. I think they are renovating it, they should paint it green to look even more like a frog.
@@BklynOutdoors 🤣
Another good video, thank you for the ride-along. Good work on the twisty hills! I humbly and respectfully offer the opinion that riding an EUC on public roadways and changing lanes without mirrors is unacceptably dangerous to your good self, and recommend that you cease doing that until you find an EUC-compatible mirror or mirrors that you like. There is a highly-experienced and exceptionally capable EUC rider in California named [Ms.] Dawn Champion who releases KZread EUC videos quite frequently. She is very communicative and helpful to other EUC riders. Her channel includes a list of equipment that she uses and likes, including sources of supply. Based on the videos I have watched, she customarily uses both a wrist mirror *and* a helmet-mounted mirror. I have purchased several items that are in her equipment list, including those specific two types of mirrors, a beeper, a waist pouch, the elasticated safety leash, and the Leatt leg protectors, and have no complaints about the quality. Also, there is a free smartphone app called "SpeedSound" which claims to speak one's current speed out loud. There are settings to tailor the frequency of the announcements (delta time and delta speed) and a few other parameters. I guess it requires that the smart phone has a GPS receiver. (I have downloaded it but have not yet field-tested it because I am not yet sufficiently confident to ride on public roads.) Still too cold to ride where I live. As weather warms up I hope to start developing more competence, but have much catching up to do before I will be able to ride as smoothly as you do. You are raising the bar! Keep up the good work, and for goodness sakes be safe.
👍🙂👍👏🙂👏 really nice ride
Thank you 😊
you're welcome 🙂
Nice video. Wow its still that cold there. I do not miss that.
This video was recorded in January, right now it's in the 70s and really humid. I have a backlog of videos I am trying to edit and post as fast as possible so I can catch up to now.
So much of learning to ride an EUC is simply figuring out what works best for you. There's no one-size fits all way to get better, just more practice and more miles. Hopefully 4 weeks later you've figured it out. :)
True. I've gotten better but I need a lot more practice before I can say I am "good at it".
Riding with a camera is overall safer and it will reveal you balance skills and help with your progression. I generally follow bicycle law and ride in the USA on the right side of the road. Most businesses will not mind you riding through their parking lots. Short shoulders kill people on roads, and I generally ride the grass that is smooth and easy to navigate. Welcome to the community. You are very brave every time you unicycle...the polite way to refer to someone that rides an euc is a pilot.
Learned a lot from your comment, thank you.
Yesterday night I am see this Shooting Star ✨
👍🙂👍 really nice ride
Thank you, it would have been nicer if the weather hadn't been so cloudy

It was cloudy and raining where I live. Thanks for sharing your lovely view! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching and for the comment
Nice video, really pretty scenery
It is, sadly they don't clean the ouside of the train so all the windows where flithy, I grabbed the seat with the clearest view but you can see it wasn't that clear.
👍🙂👍 very cool
Thank you😄
Nice little town. Reminds me of Welsboro Pa.
Hoping to go back and make a video of that trail they have.
👍🙂👍 very cool
Thank you
Good video. Audio was good. Too cold for me.
Thanks, it was cold and I realize I should have edited and posted the video when I recorded it in December but I couldn't find the time. I have a few more vids that are around that time I need to get out so that I can catch up to the current videos being made.
Fun video, beautiful scenery. It was over 80 here.
It hit 78 here the other day, need to edit and post all the older videos so I catch catch up. Last night was a beautiful night ride, it had rained a little just before sunset and dropped to about 65 degrees. I'm trying to post the videos in order to show the riding progression, but it literally takes 2 to 3 times as long to edit these videos, especially when I use external audio recording.
@@BklynOutdoors Just know you do a really good job filming and editing.
Thanks, I appreciate the praise. I'm working with a lot of limitations; an old computer, and lack of computer skills make it slow just to get a barely watchable video. If I could get this hobby to start paying for itself, then I could invest more to make better videos, unfortunately there are days I struggle to motivate myself to keep going.
👍🙂👍 very nice scenery

Good video. I hope to become as skilled a rider as you are.
I'm still an amateur, but the take away here is that it is something almost anyone can learn the basics of very quickly. I hope to see many more riders and have this community grow.
Excellent rail-trail exploration, thank you. 20:48 - 👍
You're welcome, I plan on trying a longer ride once I build up my leg muscles some more.
A spooky/fascinating tour of the grounds of the abandoned insane asylum. 13:10 - Imagining things? Best to keep a firm grasp on reality, which is that there really are fearsome monsters in the night-time shadows. They are hungry, and they are watching.
Sadly, after returning a few more times over several nights to enjoy the spooky solitude, I encountered someone and the place doesn't feel safe anymore. I think it was someone doing something illegal and didn't like the attention. I rode off and haven't gone back since.
@@BklynOutdoors That's too bad because it's an interesting area. Maybe safer in broad daylight.
@@haroldsmith45302 not as interesting in the day, to be honest. If I had a group of riders with me I am sure it would make the area less inviting to individuals looking to do illegal things and they would probably just go elsewhere to avoid the attention. The fact it is so secluded and rarely visited by police is probably what draws those types of people there in the first place.
It is great to witness the rapidity of your skill progression.
Thank you, it wasn't too difficult, but it's not something you can just jump.on and become an expert overnight. It is a rewarding progression, though. I need to practice riding while seated, balancing in place and riding backwards. Those skills are beyond my current abilities at the moment.
