Pray tell, what tickles your fancy? Be it deep dives into forgotten media? Analysis of old books and plays? Mayhaps leftist dissections of politics, praxis, and history? If those interest you, you've come to the right place! But don't expect them all at once, that's a bit daunting.

Great documentary! However, I read Tim and Daisy's relationship as purely plutonic. And I thought that was ground breaking when SPACED was first aired on British television... Men and women can be best friends without any sexual or 'friend zoning' sub context. <3

BTW not that it makes it any less weird, but age of sex consent in UK is 16 v 18 in the USA - when I was at school I remember 6th form girls dating goons in their 20s.

I hate when people analyze this sow from a team Cathy/Team Jamie perspective these are two very flawed people. Now Jason Robert Brown didn't have to change the lyrics to Shicksa Goddess because it was a little to close to ral life.

I couldn't imagine caring if "people of color" are on a show or not. I'd rather they worry about making it a good show than if it's "diverse".

I think Bush being shocked at the youthful and innocuous appearance/demeanor of the drug offender in "Mom E. DEA Arrest" was another subtle political jab, aiming at how the War on Drugs (in particular, the infamous D.A.R.E. program) often stereotyped drug users as these thuggish gangster-types.

For any idiots that believe this is the truth: Here's the REAL TRUTH: If the electoral college were eliminated, then Chicago, NYC , LA , Baltimore, will have enough votes to win every election from now on simply because of their population..... and since they are all Democrat, that means that the elections will always have the Democrat as the winner.. That's the reason the electoral college was put in effect in the first place.. So Philadelphia, and NYC which had more people than the rest of the other colonies put together, wouldn't be able to win every election, thus giving even the rual areas and states a voice .. And you idiots want to undo that ? Do you really think that a one party government is a wise choice? With no other party to keep the other side in check ? That will simply lead to tyranny... and eventually, civil war when the opposing party's people feel they have no voice helpless... which was the No.2 reason for the last civil war.... We don't need to go down that road again people..

I have both seasons on DVD and it was one of my best purchases because, yes, it’s hard to find these great episodes. I was very surprised it was cancelled as well, I thought it was cancelled due to 9-11 - that they didn’t like to show Dubya in a bad light. I also own L’il Bush, but only the first season - it’s hysterical as well, great digs at on Geo. Herbert Walker and Barbara, plus a lot of digs at Cheney and Rumsfeld. They’re all kids in school, at lunchtime, Cheney brings live chickens and bites their heads off - that’s his sack lunch! His heart explodes in another episode - he goes to Hell but tries to take over so the devil kicks him out. Li’l Rummy says he gets to pick out the cigar his dad will use to light up and burn him as a punishment. Love this show!!!

So... Back in 2009? 2010? I was *deep* into this musical. And there was a group putting it on in Columbia, SC. Well. I did not live near Columbia, SC. But! My (at the time) boyfriend's brother's friend's friend lived within walking distance of the theatre. Guess who went to Columbia to sleep on the floor of a stranger's apartment so I could see the play!! 🥳🥳 I was not murdered, but I also did not eat all weekend since the trip and tickets were *all* of my money. 18 year old Sylvir was a *mess* and 33 year old Sylvir loves her, misses her sometimes, but is mostly just *shocked* that we survived to adulthood.

This show must've had lots of script rewrites. The show seems a little out of league for the South Park guys. South Park is one track humor - simple and childish as hell. Although I've just heard of this show and never seen it - from this guy's description it seems well thought out too clever for South Park standards.

It was not the first sitcom in which a laugh track is not used in the UK. In 1998 The Royle Family started on BBC2 and its creators Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash insisted on No Laugh Track for the show. It became an immediate hit, so much so that it got transferred for BBC1 and soon would be part of the schedule on Christmas Day. Anyway watch the opening sequence for the show and then watch the final Spaced Episode Leaves and you see the influence of The Royle Family had on Spaced. It also helped that Jessica Stevenson/Hynes played a supporting character in The Royle Family. The Supporting Cast, well looking at it, it is like watching the Bambi Episode in The Young Ones, so many people who go on to be individually successful. Nick Frost had never acted before, Julia Deakin had been in conventional sitcoms before. Mark Heap would later be in Friday Night Dinner. David Walliams, Bill Bailey, Paul Kaye, Mark Gatiss, Reece Shearsmith, John Simm, Kevin Eldon and Peter Serafinowicz would all go on to successful careers themselves. Then there was one person who appeared briefly in the episode Dissolution and the idiot who didn't listen to Marsha Klein's advert properly on the phone. A few months after that another sitcom that idiot co-wrote, and they insisted on No Laugh Track for their show. It started on BBC2 and I'll leave you to work out which show that was.

Dude this show is and was funny as FUCK. It was also ahead of it's time making fun of those sitcoms from 10 years previous. And the characters while being a parody were actually loveable lol. I think about this show every year multiple times
