The performance of all of them and the ease of painting has me sold. Saving for the bigger fanatic set and I’ve ordered the fanatics metallic set and washes set. I’ve personally found them easily as good as Pro Acrylics and GW (if not vastly superior in some colours)!

Unless yu paint metal models... They always need to have a good undercoat primer.

@TawessBitsbox Жыл бұрын
Good question... according to my slicing software it was 0.18 mm layer height and a fill density around 15%. But it varied a bit depending on the part. Now where i messed up on some parts was orientation and some minor failures. It was does on a stock Flashforge Finder so not much in the way customization.
@hbk2457 Жыл бұрын
Allrighty :) i have meant the filling between the layers for smothing the surface. With my last paint job an Nuln oil it highlighted the layers even more :( on other prints i was using some lacquer and was sanding. Looking forward to your reply and in the meantine i will enjoy your other Videos:)
@TawessBitsbox Жыл бұрын
None really. just primed it and and then hit it with a airbrush. Trust me it looks way rougher up close. Generally speaking if you are going to do a shade or an ink you need to give it a solid coat of automotive filler and then a good sanding. Even then something like Nuln oil might just expose the layer lines, because that is sort of what it is made for. =) Instead try to give it a dark base and then paint up the mid tones and highlights, also avoid dry brushing. Best of luck.

Why didn't you just Layer over each Layer/ color and remove it all at once? Seems towork well for purposes, but also seems to be easier to remove miltiple-layers of the mask all together. Just Sayin' (Great Video BTW!), does theliquid -mask gum-up and get messy on your brushes and Miniatures? again: Jut asking! TY Man for another cool video!
@TawessBitsbox Жыл бұрын
Good question. In this case i wss unsure on how hard it would be to remove the masking liquid. So i decided to play it safe. =) But yes your suggestion is most likely the most efficient solution. I will make sure to mention it next time i mask. As for gumming up your brush, yes and no. i does leave some slight residue at the base of the brush so i would not recommend using any fancy brushes for it. But it was not very hard to get it out of the bristles. A good rinse every now and then kept the brush clean. But if it has time to dry out... Yeah i am sure the brush will be done for.

No i am even myself slowly moving away from recommending specific colors. If you have a favorite brand or just happen to have different paints around. Use those. When it comes to miniature paints they are all more or less equal. You can even use craft and hobby paints. If you are a adventures person you can even use those humbrol paints that comes in small metallic containers. But then you need some form of spirits to clean the brush.
@Guyver-kh7kq Жыл бұрын

@TawessBitsbox Жыл бұрын
Yeah cheaper craft acrylics tend to be a bit stingy with the pigments. Making it harder to get a good coverage. But i have seen people do some really good stuff with them and.. well.. a bucket of patience. But if you have a bit of cash laying around and can get ahold of them i´d say Vallejo offers the best bang for your bucks. Miniature paints are fairly expensive ounce by ounce but they are also designed to be easy to use and cover fairly well.. except the yellows... Nobody can figure yellows out.
