  I *think* if you set a default file view type (list, extra large icon, tile, etc) that is set for *ALL* your folders (i.e., every folder you open in Windows). That's great unless you want a specific folder set to view a certain way. Or, say, all your picture folders to be medium icons but all your Word document folders to be viewed in "list." Windows--in its infinite wisdom--will default the "Pictures" folder to a certain view type from scratch. But if you personally want "Pictures" to be, say, *medium* icons, I do not think there is a way to set that fold to "medium" and, for example, keep all your other folds as "list" view--and actually keep them that way. I may be wrong.
