Looking back 36 years on from this final I feel that if HYSEL hadn't happened in 1985 (3 years earlier) LIVERPOOL would've been the most successful club in Europe (even more than REAL MADRID), credit to WIMBLEDON though for winning this final. I feel the FA CUP meant more in those days than now in 2024 to the big clubs. It's also a shame that because on money issuses a club like WIMBLEDON does not exist anymore.nowadays.

As a Wimbledon fan I was shell shocked by the result and when I was getting the train home from Wembley I was sat there stunned. A bloke got on saw me sitting there and said `So how many did you lose by'. `We fucking won' I said. It didn't sink in till I saw the papers the next day!!!
