This one in particular I spent countless hours beating up apes and throwing them over cliffs using the electric breath with my sister, lol. Lots of great memories attached to this janky game for me💜

Fun fact! Stewart Copeland wasn’t the sole composer for ETD. Instead, 2 guys named Kenneth Burgomaster and Peter Neff helped out and made 90% of the piece, with Stewart finishing the last 10% with his iconic Spyro sounds. The reason they’re unknown is because they go uncredited, and there was a notable push from universal to get Copeland in the game, hence why the people who did the real work go uncredited. It’s also why it sounds so different stylistically. Also I love the music too!!

by the way, I think Ignitus is still dead, but only physically. His spirit though, was merged with time (my personal theory) and he became the Chronicler. Since a new age began, time, I think, also restarted, and thus time needed a new perspective, and thus a new chronicler.

Also, maybe the smiling isn't what they do. Search Wings Of Fire seawing, specifically it's template drawing by Joy Ang. It looks almost goofy, as it basically looks smiling between the menacing other dragon templates. And look then at the cover art from book 2 of the serie: the lost heir. There, the seawing (Tsunami, someone with somewhat of an equal badass aura as Cynder) looks just straightup badass, cool, and terrifying. So, it's probably just the fact that the standard look on the guardian's faces are just somewhat goofy.

I remember this being one of the "random" games I had as a kid. When I wanted to play a PS game that wasn't Spongebob (because I was big on Spongebob when I was younger) I would pick this game up and play it. Maybe I slightly remember beating it, but I remember how dark the Rome level got and I remember the beginning of the game when I think of it

Fun fact: The PS1 version actually reuses the menu font AND sounds from Rayman 2. Also the N64 version's Merlock fight is a nod to Rayman 2's fire boss.

when I was young, around 5 years old when I played this game, I remember the starting screen and the later levels (haunted house/temple) THEY CREEPED ME OUT SO MUCH!!!! also I only plyed ps1 version so i do prefer that cause of nostalgia, PLUS i like the rainbow portals, i think they added a lot to the ps1 version.

I'm currently playing this game on the PS5 atm. I forgot about those mouses back when i played it on the PS1. I guess i can thank whoever came up with the ingame save on the current gen console. If i miss the mouse on the wall, i just quick load and i'm back ready to jump a second later. Unlike the PS1, you'd have to spend 5 minutes going all the way back up again only to miss over and over again 😒

Even when I was 12 years old, this game looked terrible to me. A friend just had given me all his video games because he was getting another console, but most of them were trashy. I remember playing for about 20 minutes, getting angry, and then switching to Crash Team Racing again.

I absolutely LOVE Dawn of the Dragon! It is a game I never get tired of playing and have already beat it 100% several times over. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions definitely look the best, but I must be honest and though some/many people will likely disagree with me, even the Wii version looks better than that PS2's. Their graphics _are_ similar, but the Wii's is actually a little better. I think it also _runs_ a bit better, even on emulation (also it doesn't have broken Sparx and it seems to have a slightly better drawing distance, among other things that were sacrificed on the PS2), but I digress. Maybe I am just too used to the game by now (got it shortly after launch), but I honestly never had any issues with the negative points brought up in the video myself. Except for Ignitus' face and teeth of all dragons. The constant smile and weird teeth always bugged me. I've got to play all versions of the game recently, with the exception of the DS port (as of writing this comment anyway, as I do plan on playing it when I can) and I had tons of fun with all of them. Though the PS2's was definitely a bit of a rough ride. By the way, I must say another potentially unpopular opinion in regards to the Wii version: I actually _really_ like its motion controls. It's well done, not demanding and actually fell really natural. I actually kind of prefer it over playing the game with a regular controller like on the PS2, PS3 and 360, if I'm honest. Regardless, I reckon DotD is criminally underrated by most and absolutely doesn't deserve any of the hate it always got over the years. I likely would it it in a heartbeat if it got a remake or remaster. Same about the whole trilogy. The trilogy doesn't deserve the hate and lack of appreciation. It is _not_ a sequel to the original trilogy and its sequels and it doesn't try to be and frankly, I simply love it to bits just as much as I love the original trilogy and its sequels (yes, even Enter the Dragonfly).

Is it weird that most of the big name platformers went towards a combat-focus gameplay style at one point, minus Mario (unless you count the spin-offs)? Sonic just (kinda) did with Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), partially with Sonic Unleashed, kinda with Sonic Boom, and then moreso fully with Sonic Frontiers. Crash did with the Titan games. Spyro did with this series. Ratchet and Clank quickly shifted from platforming with combat to combat with platforming (if that makes sense). Jak and Daxter quickly shifted from platforming with some combat to focusing greatly on combat. It is an interesting pattern.

I played the heck out of this game as a child. If anything stood out to me the most, it's definitely the soundtrack. To this day, on random occasions, certain OST's from this game would randomly start playing in my head and then come in all the memories I had growing up playing it. Also, I normally played the Gamecube with my other two siblings, but this is the one and only game I remember playing completely by myself with no one watching or helping me. As flawed as this game was, the memories I have with it will remain forever ingrained in me. It's such a shame it traumatized so many Spyro fans that a lot don't even want TFB to even touch or mess with it at all. Personally, I would love for this game to be remade by TFB and added to the Reignited Trilogy.

Also, I normally played the Gamecube with my other two siblings, but this is the one and only game I remember playing completely by myself with no one watching or helping me. As flawed as this game was, the memories I have with it will remain forever ingrained in me. It's such a shame it traumatized so many Spyro fans that a lot don't even want TFB to even touch or mess with it at all. Personally, I would love for this game to be remade by TFB and added to the Reignited Trilogy.

I can't put into words how much I've missed talking to you, Tori! I was so happy to see this video pop up in my feed. I hope you find something that *you* enjoy, I think the algorithm is favoring long videos for now because taking the time to watch them is 'more engagement' and I know how difficult it is to ignore the analytics and numbers, but you should always put what you enjoy first and foremost.
So, about the strafing battles, if you hold the ranged attack, you actually shoot further, making it easier to hit without waiting for them to close in.
Sometimes I think players just font learn the mechanics, then blame the developers lol

I had unsubbed since I thought you wouldn't return and sometimes I clean my subs from inactive channels or when the content becomes unappealing. I really liked your PS1/PS2 vids Mind Pulp style and watched them entirely so I'm glad you're back, I would hope you could make content like that again but maybe with a little twist to make it more interesting.
