  Possibly so if something falls on you or you get trapped and people can't reach you they still have a basis of where to start looking? That's only my thoughts because she said above a certain level..... And the people who post saying they didn't feel it, is maybe to help any first responders limit the area they search so they don't waste time when they could be needed elsewhere.
