After the intermission, he says the ABC suspension and the Germans are PERFECTLY CREATED SUPERIOR HUMAN BEINGS….. (a) the suspension HAS to be maintained to be “optimal”… (b) then HE sneaks this in (all we had to do was REPLACE THE ENTIRE ABC SUSPENSION SYSTEM 😅… you cannot make this 💩 UP 🙂↔️🙂↔️

Any shops in Georgia you would recommend?
Centennial Motors in Alpharetta, just north of Atlanta and DC MotorWerks in Alpharetta. Both are Mercedes-Benz only shops. I've been taking my 2003 C240 to Centennial for over two years, and I've had excellent service from them. It's father and son operated. I haven't been to DC MotorWerks, but I'm subscribed to their KZread channel. From what I can tell, they seem pretty solid as well. There's also one shop with 3 or 4 locations in Metro Atlanta called Mercedes-Benz Techs of Atlanta (MBT of Atlanta) and Mercedes Mikes in my hometown of Columbus, Georgia. Hope this helps.

I had a 2006 one of the last batch, the air pressure is leaking somewhere in the central pipeline and it was a b***tch to diagnose, the central lock, the trunk release uses the air pressure system so it's constantly having problem working, and the airmatic suspension keeps on sh***ting itself, we only put around 80k km into it it wasn't that old a car but man it was the worst merc I've ever owned
I want a cl55 so bad now that prices are reasonable but the abc maintenance scares me
Totally understandable! Its a shame most owners of ABC equipped cars didn't properly maintain the systems, which then falls onto potential owners.. All we can suggest is if you do end up finding a clean one, make sure to take it to a reputable Mercedes shop and have them take a look at it beforehand.. Or if you're in Florida, you can bring it to us!

I have an 03 S55, I love my car and hate the suspension!!! But I love my car!!! 😂😂😂 I love the smooth ride when she’s acting right. Now getting the white “Visit the Workshop” message. Debating on going with coil overs 😢😢😢
I know its an expensive fix, but I can almost guarantee you won't love the ride as much if you do the coil conversion..But that's just our opinion! Look into getting Arnott replacements if you want to save a bit and have a lifetime warranty.

We generally recommend to do a ABC Flush every two years, unless you're putting a lot of miles on the system then once a year wouldn't be a bad idea.

Which suspension system do you personally prefer,ABC or Airmatic?
ABC all day! It is a superior system, though much more expensive to maintain. If the system is properly maintained, it will put a giant smile on your face every time you hit the ABC Sport button. Airmatic is definitely a more forgiving ride for a daily, but nothing compares to ABC. Pierre has an S65 with ABC, and also a daily S500 that he actually removed the airmatic from using the Arnott kit, for what its worth.

Airmatic is GREAT … unless you’re Louis Hamilton …. ABC is useless… people will always say that “what they have” is superior ! And every predatory mechanic will say “it’s more expensive, but definitely worth it”….. (fyi… they sell those exact shirts at the Mercedes Dealership)

Is it true that you can’t swap out the radio for an aftermarket on these W220’s? I’m in the market for a 03-06 S55 or S500 preferably the S55. Also which of those years would be the best to choose from? Thanks for any replies.

As mentioned above, yes you can. Just make sure to get the proper plugs when ordering your radio! We also recommend checking out Becker Audio if you wish to keep the stock unit but add Bluetooth capabilities. It can be a little pricey in comparison, but some prefer to keep it stock looking.

Those headlamps are beautiful and crystal clear. Most of the W220 and the other models like the c-class of that time usually have ugly cloudy dull headlights
MB provided these crystal clear headlamps as a part of facelift!
Replacement lenses can be applied to the original headlamps to have that “like-new” look again..
I own a 2005 S55 AMG fully loaded radar Cruise/collision warning, rear heated cooled and adjustable seats, wireless entry push to start, satellite radio ..pushing 213,000 MI no issues no leaks everything works Cubanite silver, Chrome original 5 double spoke AMG Wheels Mint condition no One believes the miles when looking at the car
Nearly the same spec on my car, but I didn't think the chrome 5 spoke wheels were originally chrome? I can't find anything that indicates they came factory like that.

The v12 is not as reliable as the v8
yeah the m275 is a good car 03 v12 and up more powerful and just as a reliable only major repair is coil packs

To lower ABC cars we suggest using a lowering module from a company called LoMo! A quick google search should find it.
