    As a layman I would say either looks clean and tidy, I think most people would share my opinion. But I do appreciate the effort put into handcrafting.

    Super helpful but is it an easier way to do it without taking the whole headliner out. The fabric on my headliner is coming down in spots but I just want to make it stick back up without taking it out.

    Such a well-done, concise video. Easy to follow and easy to execute. The young lady is well spoken and very clear in her instructions. No fluff or filler to make the video unnecessarily long. Thank you!!! ❤

    Very knowledgeable and accurate. I’ve been working with leather since 1993 until about 2012. I haven’t been able to because of living situation been able to since then but am in the middle of moving now and will be getting back into it. I am really excited about this and I’m hoping in a few month I’ll be set up to start again. I have lots of tools but need to get a new machine for sewing. 💜🙏🏼😎

    What color is it now? A chocolate brown or black should be dark enough to cover most stains.

    Good evening, I have a question, is it possible to apply oils, balms, creams over these finishes (resolene, bah kote, ecc) to nourish the leather or do they form a waterproof layer that prevents absorption? Thanks for the reply and thanks for the interesting video!

  • @SailriteWorkbench
    @SailriteWorkbench4 күн бұрын

    Resolene is a waterproof finish, so oils and balms would not penetrate. I would recommend conditioning your leather with oil before applying the finish. Or, you can use a non-waterproof finish like leather balm if you plan to condition your piece regularly. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    How did you get the stitch line on the flap to hit the rivet hole perfectly as shown at 7:10 in the video?!

  • @SailriteWorkbench
    @SailriteWorkbench12 күн бұрын

    I just take it slow when I near the endpoint, and I use the stitch length adjustment lever to shorten that last stitch however much i need to ensure it lands right at the beginning of the rivet hole. Then I replicated that stitch again to lock it in place.That rivet will also help secure that stitch line once it is installed. I hope that helps!

    As someone that loves sailrite but is not into sailing, I have no idea what this would be used for. Terrain making for table top games?

  • @SailriteWorkbench
    @SailriteWorkbench11 күн бұрын

    That sounds like a lot of fun! You could definitely use it that way! This shaper is typically used on cushions and automotive seating to achieve rounded edges and contoured seats, but it can be used to shape foam for any project. 😊

    I really loved the video, but I was wondering how much fabric is needed for this? I know it will depend on the car but did you buy 3yrds of 60” width fabric?

  • @SailriteWorkbench
    @SailriteWorkbench11 күн бұрын

    Hi! Our car was on the small side, so we used 2 yards of 54-inch wide fabric. We recommend measuring from your front windshield to the backwind shield to determine your length. Hope that helps!
