He was uninjured, I'm sure quite upset though. He apologized for the incident. I'm still not exactly sure what happened there but I've seen accidents at the drag strip that should have been avoided or didn't make sense. Much appreciated RDC

I don't understand why they're driving so slow that's not racing
Both drivers have been racing again each other there for a long time, I've been watching them for a year. The truck driver usually drives an S 10 pickup that is known to be slow and they usually give him a head start just for fun. Exactly what happened in turn 4 last night I can't explain other than mistakes were made for whatever reasons. Luckily no one was hurt and hopefully the Mustang can be repaired. Appreciate ya Bill
What is the model of the cop car? I couldn't see any badging, but It must be Ford or Chevy, right? All the troopers and local cops use Chargers or some pursuit Mustang 5.0
I believe its a Ford Fusion but I'm not sure. Not a typical cop car for around here but I do recall seeing them used.
@FloridaManRacingChannel I used to work fire rescue for a county in south GA. We had a DARE Dodge Viper car at my station, and I was so tempted to go for a short joyride. It was painted the mystic color, which was the same as on my 97 cobra at the time. I did get to go on a ride in it with the sheriff when I was dating his daughter, which was the best thing to happen to me when I was with her.
@littlebucks912 Fancy DARE car and nice Cobra btw. Chargers or Explorers are what most agencies use around Central Florida currently since they retired the Crown Vic and I'm pretty sure Cleetus McFarland has scooped up most of them in Florida. That Fusion does run well as he has been out there before, he's usually difficult to beat.
@FloridaManRacingChannel Crown Vics are weak compared to the current cop cars undeniably. I have several friends and a family in L.E. and they all say how the CV was much more of a tank compared to the current cars used.
@littlebucks912 They are definitely boats. Seem to be very reliable though, Cleetus races his fleet hard and they keep on running. No doubt the newer police vehicles perform better. The Interceptor motor in the Police Explorer likely makes more power than the 4.6 liter did in the crown vic
I would be sick if my Mustang was crashed into. First of all, I wouldn't ever use my daily driver in one of these spectators' races. It looked like it was purposely done since he was trying to go thru the grass off track to hit the car.
I own a 14 GT myself and my jaw dropped when this happened. Both drivers have been racing here since before I started attending last May and I don't think it was intentional. The Mustang almost looked like he was trying to turn onto pit lane he was so low and I believe the truck not only didn't notice that but perhaps misjudged how slow the Mustang was going. Just thankful no one was injured and Big Gravy was in good spirits about it. I'm sure he will return and I would be interested to hear his side of what happened when he sees this upload. Just don't crawl around the track then turn into oncoming traffic pretty east to avoid....
@@charliesmith7942oncoming traffic is coming from the opposite way/head on, truck was so far behind in the middle of the back straight he had plenty time to see the mustang going to the pits but stayed in it and realized it too late. Shit happens in racing especially spectator drags, that race was a mess from the start 😂
@young11984 agreed. A little showboating and a little bit of poor judgment. Sad to see but it's the risk they take doing this.

Allow drifting at the track
New Smyrna Speedway isn't really set up for drifting the way the infield is laid out. Orlando SpeedWorld or The Freedom Factory are more suitable for drifting. Much appreciated Burn

as someone in australlia grew up watching the burnout scene in australia i really wanna support and enjoy watvhing americans do it but there not quite there yet adn i feel some kinda treat as joke i mean i get entertaing the crowd but itaint it
We Americans always put or little spin on things. I agree you Australians have the best burnout contest ( or skids) on the planet but over here it's a growing sport that's still being tweaked and perfected , with more Australians coming over to compete with us the more we will learn. Summernats is in my bucket list to attend one day but until then I will continue to enjoy watching burnout contests evolve in the USA. Much appreciated Joshua

What happened to the main event style race that they used to have?
They ended that about this time last year citing insurance reasons. Those were really exciting, hope they bring them back one day. Appreciate ya Arrive

We never touched. He and I are good friends, I'm just as fast as him but he is on a tire that is near enough a slick with a couple lines of tread, so I just couldn't stick in the corner as good
I raced at New Smyrna years ago and i can surely tell you that is not the place you want to mess around with.

It also didn't help that the GTR was on bags and tires that looked to be like all season tires
If the driver of the GTR knew how to drive, he would have cleaned up the field.
Definitely a fast car bit probably little or no experience on an oval track. Better safe than sorry as well with an expensive car like that, we all know what can happen. Much appreciated Red
He still would have had trouble with the Mustangs, when you have a GTR that is on all season tires and bags, it's not going to do well at a track no matter who's driving it
So far as I'm watching this. The person in the 4th Gen Camaro was going really easy on his car. Are these events listed in the tracks site?
Look for the Family Fun Night on the New Smyrna Speedway website. They do these once a month and admission is only $5 . Come see it in person if you are in the area, can't beat the price. Appreciate ya Sno

Gtr driver needs to spend some money on some decent tires or some lessons. That was straight embarrassing. I've seen 12 year olds handle lawn mowers with more precision.

Chase is a race. Forester should have stopped and called the foul. But he didn't. He chased after him. The race is on.
@@nightwolf9723 Sorry no. This isn't street racing. On a sanctioned track, the racers don't double as referee. It has *_always_* been race officials that make that call. The starter made it obvious over the PA system that he saw the jump. The race should've been forfeit and redone. Otherwise you send a message that racers can move to the next round if they just cheat.

Mustangs doing Mustang things. Use that phrase to search KZread and you'll find out that there's a reason there are countless videos of just Mustangs wiping out.
Yes, when a powerful car is paired with a skill-less driver. Makes for great content. But it's not just Mustangs. You can see the same thing with Corvettes, Camaros, Trans Ams, Chargers, Challengers, McLarens, Nissan GTRs, Acura NSXs, Mazda Miatas, Porsche 911s, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, AMG Mercedes-Benzs, Audi R8s, and my personal favorite, BMW M-series fails.
Predators don't hunt when they are not hungry. That's why you have to remember to feed your Mustang before racing it....

I'm ashamed of myself that I actually spent five minutes watching these, moonshine using hillbillies racing their Mom's minivan because their lifted truck is still stuck in the mud and will roll over if they go across the Walmart parking lot too fast, before my brain kicked in and said no.
