Practicing Photography - Getting better one photo at a time.
I am here to learn with you, make mistakes with you, and get better with you.
My videos will cover different aspects of photography and sometimes delve into the computer side that supports photographers. Much of what I do is wildlife, portrait, street, and projects. Projects are where I like to branch into other areas such as macro or special effects.
This channel will encourage you to take photos and to practice what you are learning from others.
So, make sure to subscribe to my channel to see more of what I create.

Good yes, but you outa tune gramps lol
I tune it once in a while. I hit the strings hard and they are getting old and probably losing their tune faster. Probably need to change them.
I finally tuned it - I was way out of tune.... thanks for the heads up. Since I just play alone, I wasn't hearing how off it was.
My pappy said " buy you gunna drive me to drinkin if u don't stop PLAYING that hotrod Lincoln
That's awesome
This is what I do when I need a break - I am not the best, but I have fun.
That was a great show last night and you captured it very well! 🎆
Great work!
Cool!!
Let me know if you try this and how it worked out.
What gear have you missed packing with you and what do you do to not do that again?
What are your thoughts? Are you leaving Adobe?
I had the biggest diffulty learing where the different grid options were. So I hope this helps. Leave me a comment if this helped you.
Thanks for this tip!
You bet. More is on the way.
Lightroom Tips You Need!
Memorial Day Video - no requests for subs or likes. It is about those that gave it all.
Please cut the music, distracting , annoying , not needed. Thanks for posting.
Alway difficult to choose the right music and the volume level. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for this tip! So cool how you transitioned your video to the photo...
Thanks for the comment. I hope to make more on my photography life.
Thanks for this ❤️
Thanks. Glad to see you in my comments.
@@PracticingPhotography I haven't checked out your channel in a very long time.
Here from VRA facebook group. I would like to learn how to do this for my videos. I am not so good at editing.
You can learn. Just start. That is what I did and I am still learning with every video. It takes time so just jump right in.
This is extremely helpful. I’ve been learning PS and illustrator, but i think the steps are probably the same or very similar Thanks for posting!
Do you have a lightroom feature you would like to see me demo?
What part of Lightroom would you like me to demo?
*PromoSM* 😅
I may edit differently now, but this is how I started. I started using the gradient and elliptical mask early on. Do you use masking in Lightroom?
Slightly out of focus, 4/10 (I have never taken photos even half professionally)
That’s beautiful
What is your challenge when it comes to any bird photography?
What catalog questions do you have?
Thanks Doug. Question - is this your iCloud for storing all your photos? Is there a limit of what you can store in LR? I have photos back to 1975 and a couple years ago I lost some of those to my external hard drive crashing - was not able to find someone to recover them for under $2K! Broken hearted. So now I have saved all photo to several hard drives! One is a master drive and others are individual such as my genealogy photos, family photos and then others for documents, etc.
I use external local hard drives and then use backblaze for my backups. Backblaze has unlimited storage and is automatic. I may over do it but, I have two copies at home and also in backblaze just in case I have a disaster at home.

I did not know about ps and lightroom for 9.99
It is a monthly fee and you can cancel any time. But no refund on the month(s) you already pay. But if you start using either it is worth keeping.

What is your prefered way to organized photos on your computer or hard drives?
I can't "just" put the snow people away. Nope. Over 870 photos and an hour and 12 minutes later I was able to create this 29-second timelapse.
My yorkie's name is Zeus and he only had a very short appearance in the video. Did you see him?
Good to see the pre and post editing.
Thanks. I will probably be doing more of those and give more detail of how I edit. I may not be the best editor, but we all have our own styles. Thanks for stopping by.
Subscribed. Hope to see many more videos on your channel in 2024.
I am sharing my original (before) and post (edited) photos with a short explanation on each one. Which photo is your favorte?
It has been like looking through drizly rain until I watched this video. Thank you thank you thank you! Cue the music...I can see clearly now the rain has gone.
That is awesome. I have to adjust it often because it seems to get moved while in my bag.
Nice video of the area!
Thank you. The tunnel was a little eerie. Was worried about bats or spiders and maybe a snake. But it was in the lot 50s, so we took the risk.
LOL...thought the same thing when you entered the tunnel.@@PracticingPhotography
I have some awesome photos from this trip. I will work on a video montage and short description of what they are. Thanks for watching.
Super awesome practical photo and local sites
Going to make a third video on the same topic - don't feel I have nailed it yet.
Keep those Autumn photos coming! Love it!
Will do!
Just a twirl on my scarecrow.
I've been looking for this feature for so long! Thank you
Awesome. It is my goto setting when I do any fast-moving subjects that I want to freeze.
Is there this setting menu in canon m series?
I don't believe there is. So, you would want to use TV mode, push your ISO to a higher value, and let the camera choose the aperture.
Great video, you reminded me to buy an extra battery for my camera!
You should!
I also have a couple small memory cards that I keep in my vehicle console and in a small pocket in all my camera bags. Cant tell you how many times I got out in the field and forgot my memory card in the reader back in the office.
The sad part, is I need to practice that. I went to fly my drone and didn't have a memory card. I was saved by the 8GB internal storage. I have thought of putting extras in my car, but since my drone near miss, I now have multiple memory cards stored in each camera bag I own.
Do you have extra memory cards and extra batteries? If not why not?
Nice video of the community!
Thanks!
