Why you forget to mention thousands of years of history before 1948? Your history books miss the thousands of years of Jewish history? Arab Palestinians were offered a two state solution way before 1948 (pill committee 1936), and way after. It's not the Israelies that repeatedly rejected it. You mention discrimination against non Jews in Israel. How about you tell that to the 7000 Arab doctors working in the Israeli health care system? Or the thousands of Arab lawyers, judges (including the Supreme Court of Israel), members of parliament, academy professors, you name it... how convenient to ignore. You say that the majority of the land was given to the jews... actually you are wrong... the British mandate area included Trans Jordan. If you add that, a lot more was given to the Arabs. If you add Syria and Lebanon, all created more or less under the same circumstances, the vast majority of the land was given to Arabs and a small fraction to the Jews. Sad to see this one sided propaganda in Canada. And the biggest problem? Most jews would still be happy with a two state solution if Arab would have accepted it and lay down their weapons. But the Hamas, who is still controlling Gaza, clearly states that they want an Islamic Caliphate over the entire land. Bullshit. The land of Israel was hardly settled thanks to the persecutions of the early Arab Muslims (7th century) invasion and later the Mamluk persecution of the majority Christians in the land. By the time of the Ottoman there were only 123,000 people in what is today modern Israel (with 9.5 million people.). the ottomans enoucraged immigration from Europe (Bosnians) North Africa (Algerians) and Central Asia (Circassians). By 1800 there were 275K people in the land. from 1904 to 1914 Arabs and Jews began immigration in mass. 250K Arabs immigrated thanks to the Zionist economy being developed. But then WWI broke out. The victors (Supreme War council) decided to allow the Arabs and Jews make a claim for a state at the Paris Peace conference. the Arabs claimed they were a homogenous people deserving of a state. the Jews claimed thy only wanted to reconstitute what they once had in the land they had a historical connection to. At San Remo the Arans got Syria and Iraq, the Jews got what is today Israel and Jordan. A Mandate was established to transfer control. But the British betrayed their international obligation and blocked Jewish immigration while allowing for illegal Arab immigration. From 1918 to 1947 700K new Arab immigrants came to the land. These with the earlier 250K made up the 1.9M people by 1947 600K of which were Jews. In other words, "Palestinians" did not exist. the Arabs were foreign to the land, and the issue is not about Arab need but Arab greed.

This video is very helpful for an easy introduction, but how could you not mention the Nakba? You say how they destroyed hundreds of Palestinian towns but not the thousands of people they massacred in the process? It wasn't just "fighting" as you say, it was an act of ethnic cleansing. And it is still ongoing. I highly recommend 1948: Creation and Catastrophe in which the settlers themselves describe what they did, alongside Palestinians and scholars on the subject. Other than that, I love JVP's work :)
