    Ah memories! My spider sprung a leak a few years ago. I couldn't find a new one, so I went through two crappy remans that also leaked before I really went searching and found a site with a handful of new old-stock ones. I also replaced the lines and the distributor cap while I was at it because why not.

    Hi. I just got my 4000 pro in yesterday. So far I’ve charged it to 100% on low input mode. Hooked it to my fridge to until it depleted the battery which took about 17-18 hrs. Then I tried to charge it on high input mode. I’ve gotten 2 over heating warnings while charging from the outlet. Then the ac input port was “disabled due to a general protection fault”. Have you experienced anything like that with yours?

    If belt tension was never adjusted, it's easier to buy new belt and just replace it without adjusting tension. I don't know about belt prices in the USA, but in the EU I bought an SKF belt (A42 in my case) of the original size for 4 euros and just replaced it - the tension is ideal.

    gross. that food grade grease sucks. Don't you pull the armature to grease that front bearing? And the rear bearing takes a little oil, right? Naptha will take those stains off, or better brake cleaner. I like the turntable!

    So, given your experience, would you just replace the whole unit in future or just the fans? Or ditch it and buy one of the cheaper units on the market knowing you may have to replace every few years?

  • @ffsteel111
    @ffsteel1116 ай бұрын

    That’s a great question and one I have definitely considered especially dealing with this issue. Currently to date I still have not been able to get a fan which obviously is a big issue I ended up purchasing an entire other unit for parts. The first thing I would consider is the fact you already have the hole cut and you have it glued down And it’s a nightmare to get off secondary to that is the hole is slightly different size than what other units use so you would need to do some modifications to make another unit fit properly. The third thing is the unit is very low profile considering what else is on the market , and overall it does work good when it doesn’t have this issue. After getting into the unit and learning more about it I feel more comfortable with it but I definitely don’t wanna be replacing fans more than once especially this early in the age of the unit. If I had to start fresh with the knowledge I now have I would probably go with some thing from Nomadic and potentially even go with 120 V unit because there was many of times where I have shore power and have to convert my 120 to 12 for the air conditioner which isn’t a huge issue but one I would consider

    @@ffsteel111 mine is actually on a trailer boat. Once I have it fixed, I’m going to have a cover made for it that only comes off when I’m actually using the unit. We sprayed all the innards of the AC with Gulf Coat, but there is rust on the steel piece on the bottom of the fans, so clearly water got down there. If it’s covered most of the time I am sure we’ll increase the longevity of the unit. Could be well worth investing in a cover for the one on your van. It’s not reverse cycle so can’t be used to heat in winter, so would be well worth covering it all winter. My fans are the newer model where the motor is as wide as the fan BTW but water still got in.

    Hey Devon. I’ve just been into my local caravan place after Dometic told me I can’t buy spare parts direct from them. Fortunately I am friends with my local van parts place - $265AUD+tax is what they have quoted me and they Dometic one in stock in Australia (I’m in Perth, it’s in Melbourne) and I can get my second one end of the month. Normally things in Oz are much more expensive than the US or Europe!!! That’s fan only, no cowl etc. Do you have any details for the fuses?

  • @jay3580

    Having the same issue with mine. Thank you very much for taking the time as I learned quite a bit. Mine is still under warranty, so I will take advantage of that. With it working normally, what would you say your Delta T is, temperature differential from intake to exhaust with it working properly? Again, thank you very much. I know these take time to produce.

    I have the same problem - it throws an error F04 and F06 which is apparently condenser fans not working. Did you have to replace a fan, or did you just replace the fuse? Is the fuse on a circuit board on the inside (cab) side of the unit or on the outside?

    Yes check that video out because it’s very detailed and as far as finding a fan good luck you can’t even buy it from Dometic it’s a total nightmare the only one I found is like $500 and it comes from Europe but it does not have the exact matching part number
