    I would probably pull off the female flowers or the burs when they form. When trees are still pretty young I try to pick off any nut/fruit starting to from so that the tree just focuses water and nutrients on increasing growth instead of production. This may not be the right thing to do or a good thing to do but to me it makes sense and it has never caused me any problems.

    Cool video! Thanks for sharing. Something I have been told that is great for getting trees to increase flower/catkin production is adding Boron to the soil. Your soil may could use it and it may not need it. Just wanted to share as it seems boron greatly increases flower production. ( I have seen it used for chestnuts and oaks I am not sure about fruit trees but I assume it would work as well). Look into this if you ever get some time, you may want to try it. Love the videos, keep it up!!

    My chestnuts are dead or dying from all this rain. They turned brown and all the leaves fell off. Last year was the complete opposite with no rain. Storm came through last week and broke off a very big apple tree 3’ off the ground, broke my 9’ pawpaw at the ground line, broke my Fuju persimmon in half and 3 old peach trees. Broke a lot of limbs in my pecans and blew a huge willow tree over on my neighbors property. The ground was solid white with hail. That destroyed my garden and 16 varieties of figs with their big leaves. I’d rather have this flooding than no rain if I had to choose between the 2. My well water looks like tea. Does that every time we get floods. I drink it and survive.

    These are special containers designed for growing trees that have a hole in the bottom so when the taproot gets to the bottom it tries to go out and is air pruned. Doesn’t hurt the tree. These pots are 18” deep and are 3x3” square. The trees will stay in them for one year then I plan to plant them in the field somewhere.

  • @MattPatterson1411
    @MattPatterson14113 ай бұрын

    There’s no way that panel is over 90% efficient. Think about it. If it was, you’ve just solved the world’s energy problems. At most panels are 25% efficient depending on their makeup. Most of the energy is lost in the form of heat radiation. A panel that is 100% efficient or close to it is like the holy grail of solar panels.

  • @Curt100
    @Curt1003 ай бұрын

    @@MattPatterson1411 it's absolutely true. There are plenty of videos that prove the same. Your understanding seems a bit off when it comes to efficiency rating. Regardless, there are several panels that produce more wattage than they are rated at, but certainly only under ideal conditions. Most panels are overrated when it comes to wattage, but some companies are actually more honest about it. I have 2 100 watt Harbor Freight rigid panels. They both have shown over 100 watts output (around 106 watts each).

    I have a pawpaw loaded with blooms and most of my other pawpaws mostly died from last summer. They were 8’ tall and died to the ground. I watered them every week. They’re in my yard which is terrible soil for pawpaw. Sand and rock. I wanted them close so I could water them easier. I wish I had another one to hand pollinate them. I have now lost 2 pecan trees from last summer. One I planted in the 1980s and the other in the early 90s. That oldest tree blocked the sun off my home. Out of around 100 pecan trees, that’s the one I needed the most. Do you know what your soils PH usually averages? Chestnuts like acidic soil. Mine runs around 5.7 which is unusual for this county. That’s why I planted chestnuts here. I’d try blueberries if they didn’t require so much watering.

I’d have planted those other species this winter also if I’d have found the seeds earlier. I wanted to beat the summer heat and drought. I lost a big Oconee pecan to that horrible summer. I have too many trees to water. What can’t survive will be replaced with more drought resistant species. I planted the Tupelo around my pond.
